Spa Hotel Libensky Podebrady

The building has its own balneological facilities which enable patients to use our services practically "under one roof". There is an intensive care available for 24 hours, 2 dining rooms and a stylish cafe.

The spa centre is created by greenery of the parks. These parks have a calming effect on the nervous system and releases from stress. The quiet and romantic environment is ideal not only for the patients but also for recreation that offers a range of sports activities such as: tennis, golf, horse-riding, swimming, volleyball, basketball, football, cycling, surfing, sports shooting, fishing.

Hotel Libensky is the main spa house of the s.c. Spa Podebrady. The building is situated in the centre of the spa colonnade surrounded by a beautiful park. Therefore, it is the most visited spa hotel at Podebrady.

The rooms provide a *** standard. Each room contains a shower or a bathroom, a WC, a refrigerator, a telephone and a colour TV set with satellite.

The town Podebrady was established near an important crossing on the river "Elbe" in 1224. There is a castle which is the dominating feature of the town. There, according to some historians, the Czech King "George From Podebrady" was born in 1420. His peace efforts far surpassed the following centuries. A small spa was already established there in 17th century and its spring was considered as the best ferrous water. The most significant period in modern history was in 1905. A spring of mineral water was discovered when searching for drinking water in the courtyard of the castle. The first spa season began as the mineral water, with an excellent medical force in the carbonic spa, brought the predicted "golden age" of the town in 1908.

An important part of the treatment is a healthy diet. The diet is prescribed by a doctor on the beginning of the stay. If you need to know anything about food and healthy eating you can talk to a dietary nurse who is ready to advise you. We can offer 9 kinds of diets to our patients, lowering a cholesterol level (it has 3 choices), gall-bladder diet, diabetic diet, diabetic + gall-bladder, reduction diet, fit diet, special diet for relaxing stays.

Treatment consist in:

Massages
A general or partial massage is given according to the doctor's recommendation. The massage lasts 5-30 minutes. We use special gels or soaps. If you are an allergic please mention that in advance. Take a shower after every massage. In case of using a modern massage gel it is enough to wipe it off by tissue paper.

Electro-treatment
We cure muscles and joints pain, diadynamic, ultrasound, diaterm, hydrogalvan. The time of an application is set up according to the doctor's medical attendance. The intensity level is up to the patients' individual sensitivity.

Inhalation
Treatment of breathing disorders. The basic source for the inhalation is mineral water 'Vincentka', additional according to the doctor's prescription. The inhalation lasts 3-6 mins., 1-2 times a day. Please breath regularly during the inhalation, not too deeply as it may cause an irritation.

Paraffin therapy
Cures muscles, bones and joints pain. The white paraffin with paraffin oil is applied at the temperature of 50-52°C. It is possible to dip your arms into the vessel 3-5 times to create a thin layer. Paraffin is applied on the other parts of the body by a brush. Paraffin is left on for 20 mins. The removal is easy - Paraffin is peeled off.

Gas injections
Cures muscles and joints pain. We use: a specially filtered natural gas for an under-skin application. The process is carried out by a nurse. Each dose is 20-50 ml. The maximum dose is 200 ml/one sitting. The procedure is provided 3 times per week. The area where the injection was applied is swollen for about 1 hour. As you touch it you can feel some cracking. That is caused by the gas which is gradually absorbing. It's not necessary to rest, contrary you should keep on moving for a while.

Water treatment
Cure of blood circulation disorders and rheumatism. We provide 5 types of treatment depending on the medical state of the patients. A part of every treatment is a rehabilitation pool. Patients take a shower before the individual parts of the treatment beginning. We suggest to take a rest of 30 mins. after the absolving of all procedures. This procedure is time-consuming and physically demanding - please don't make any programme.

Carbonic bath
The bath lasts 10-20 mins. according to the doctor's suggestion. The temperature is 32-34°C. Please lie comfortably in the bath with your head backward so that you don't breath carbon dioxide. After the bath you will have a rest in a wrap.

Underwater massages
The massages are provided in the Podebrady's mineral water. The water contains concentrated carbon dioxide. The massage lasts 10-30 mins.

The hotel has 2 dinning rooms with 200 seats.

Money exchange is available at reception desk. The hotel has its own car-park. There is a hotel park with a fountain and a place to play chest in the open air. You can also hire a bicycle or use a swimming pool which is 50 m away from the hotel.

Prices are including accommodation, full board, medical controls and treatment. From Monday to Friday 3 procedures, Saturday 1 procedure, Sunday without procedure.
