Pension Svambersky Dum

The newly rebuilt Pension Svambersky Dum is an one-storey house with three window axis and a painted gable, the facade is not plastic ally molded, in the entrance hall is barrel vaulting with shallow ribs, on the left is a single-flight staircase leading to the first floor.

Pension Svambersky dum is situated very close to the square in the house of the Middle Ages origin with the preserved Gothic features and medieval frescoes on the facade.

We provide accommodation in 4 two-bed rooms and 2 suites in the attic, an extra bed is possible. The rooms are spacious, equipped with period furniture, offering every comfort. The rooms on the first floor have a terrace with the view of the castle. All the rooms are en suite and well-architectonically designed.

The house is of medieval origin and the cellars probably come from that time. There was and underground access to the building on the opposite side of the road and also to the yard. We cannot exclude the medieval origin of the vaulting in the left section on the ground floor. The entrance hall with a simple portal was reconstructed in the late Renaissance period. The rear part of the ground floor and the top floor were newly renovated in the renovated in the 1960s.

The most valuable elements of the entire building are wall decorations on the facade that originate from the late-Middle Ages – it is the largest extent of such decorations of all the houses in Cesky Krumlov. On the gable are coats of arms decorated with the Rosenberg rose, a horse and a duck. On the first floor there is a mural of St. Florian building the town, and unknown saint with a mitre, and unknown figure and an unknown symbol. We can also mention stone vaults in cellars and a simply profiled rectangular Renaissance portal.

Our breakfast buffet offers a wide choice of food and drinks. There is a stylish restaurant with a fire-place on the ground floor as well as a terrace and basement cellar - of the total capacity 128 seats.

We offer Czech cuisine specialities, game, fish, poultry, a la minutes, salads vegetarian dishes, desserts, ice-cream and fruit sundae. To drink we serve alcohol and soft drinks, a lot of sorts of coffee and a great variety of wines. We can make a special menu offer for groups at the reduced price. We organize wedding feasts, dinner parties, buffets, company parties, New Year´s Eve parties. Catering for tourist guides and bus drivers is provided free.

Parking = 200 CZK (7 EUR) / day.

The price per Attic Suite double use per night is 1.900 CZK (around 67 EUR). Extra bed 500 CZK (around 17 EUR).
