Cesky Sternberk Castle perching on cliffs in the romantic and wooded valley above the Sazava river occupies a leading position among Early Gothic castles originating in the Middle Ages. Its interiors, housing valuable art collections, were adapted in the Late Gothic and Early Baroque style and are richly decorated with stucco works. Nowadays the castle is again in possession of the counts of the Sternberks.
