Increasing number of foreigners spend honeymoon in Prague |

Prague, July 3 (CTK) - The number of foreigners who decide to spend their honeymoon in Prague grows every year, CTK found out in a poll.
Most of them are people from Great Britain, Ireland and the US who demand a higher standard of services. Special honeymoon stays are therefore offered especially by luxury hotels in the centre of Prague.
Tourism analyst Jaromir Beranek of Mag Consulting said newlyweds made up an estimated three-to-five percent of the total number of tourists coming to Prague. Last year, 3.725 million tourists visited the Czech capital.
Honeymoon stays usually include higher-category accommodation, transport from the airport by limousine, romantic dinner for two, a bottle of sparkling wine and flower decoration in the room. Newlyweds can sometimes use a guide on their private city tour.
"Very often, those spending their honeymoon in Prague are children of Czech emigrants and mixed couples with one of the newlyweds coming from the Czech Republic," said Katerina Micova of the Aria hotel. Half of these guests also organise their wedding in the city, she added.
People going to Prague on their honeymoon mostly spend more money but relatively little time in the city compared with average tourists. Dana Tomasova of Andel's hotel said honeymoon in Prague is a matter of one weekend.
But Jaromir Beranek stressed that the increasing offer of low-cost airlines has a big impact on the development of honeymoon tourism.
