Apartments accommodation is a new growing holiday trend in Prague since the end of the nineties.
People are more traveling to Prague as small groups of friends or few couples sharing together the same pleasure of experiencing the attractions of the city and since hotels weren't usually fulfilling their needs, the growth of holiday apartments in Prague was a big need to satisfy such travelers.
Apartments are more convenient for them from the financial point of view: instead of expensive hotel rooms the good alternative for them was to look for a large luxury apartment in central Prague barely for the price of one double room in a 4 star hotel.
Apartments are also suitable for those travelers as they provide practical home-like accommodation in central Prague, with fully equipped kitchen, furnished living room, washing machine, dish-wash machine...
I remember few years ago finding a suitable apartment for our guests in different districts of Prague was quite a hard task, the choice wasn't that wide as it was always with hotels. Now and fortunately for Prague lovers, holiday apartments are growing in every single district (I can even say in every street in Prague), In the center of the town, in the Wenceslas Square, in the Old Town and for sure in the romantic Lesser Town. For guests traveling by car or looking for budget accommodation, they can find very nicely equipped cheap apartments with easy access to the center of Prague by public transport, and the other advantage of staying in such apartments is that they usually get the parking place for their cars free of charges.
I should also mention new professional companies managing large number of apartments in many districts of Prague to compete with traditional hotel chains. Even particular flat owners felt more comfortable to rent their apartments for short terms holiday and business travelers in Prague, result: this service has shown great improvement.
Now we can say that Prague apartments are really becoming a good alternative for Prague hotels. Apartments that fit any preferences of budget, taste or location.
From the budget/location point of view you will find cheap apartments in residential districts around the center of Prague, middle range apartments at a short walking distance from the Wenceslas Square, the main avenue of Prague and for sure high standard apartments in Central Prague but still for reasonable prices if you consider the perfect location and the quality of the apartments.
Apartments for every taste: modern apartments with design furniture and high-tech equipments in Central Prague also as old style apartments with oak furniture and original painted ceilings in historical buildings in the Old Town of Prague and the Lesser Town.
