rochester, ny The hotel is indeed very central, steps from the staro mesto. the breakfast was rather limited. rooms are clean, staff was ok, but seemed visibly annoyed when i complained about charges for phone calls when no connection happened. they did refund it though. the worst part was a lack of airconditoning. it was hot and hard to sleep. i would not recommend this hotel for summer months, other than that it is fine.

Diane Room #14 was a blast!!! Brought our kids to Prague and wanted them to get the feel of a real Czech building/hotel. It was alot of fun. Rm 14 is the attic room. Lots of room in living space. The shower/toilet room was quite small, but what a view, what a location!!! The rooms windows overlook the rooftops of all angles of Prague I. It is steps to the Square and yet is so quiet!! What a perfect location. The major drawback to the attic room-- no elevator-- 68 steps to the room, then 14 more steps to the bathroom!!! But, you know what-- totally a great experience!!! The breakfast was a bit scarce, but there is a bakery right down the street. The staff were helpful and really very nice!!! Loved Prague and would stay here again in a second if I had the choice!!! Arlington, Texas We are a retired US couple traveling in Central Europe -- 10 days on a tour, then 10 days on our own. The tour spent only 2 nights in Prague, so we wanted to return for another week in the Czech Republic. We asked our Czech tour guide in Prague for a hotel that was well located, clean, and a good value, and he walked us into U Tri Bubnu.
The great location, clean and comfortably updatged rooms, cab/airport arrangements, and charm are all positives. The staff was outstanding (esp. Ivona and Martina) -- well trained, friendly, positive, and spoke excellent English -- they helped with hauling our luggage up some stairs, arranging side trip accommodations to Krumlov, storing some of our luggage while we took that side trip, and answering our usual tourist questions. Breakfast was just adequate -- but not enough to complain about or to offset the many pluses of this property. We spent 3 days in one room, then 2 in another after our Krumlov visit. Both rooms were quiet at night. As to bathrooms, the 1st floor BR with more charm had a less easy-to-use bath than did our 2nd floor assignment, though both were very clean.
In short, we\'d recommend this as an excellent value that exceeded our requirements and expectations.

Harley This charming centrally located hotel turned out to be a disappointment.
I would not be writing this except that for some reason the hotel concluded that we took one of their towels and charged my credit card $25 for it. The towels at this place are threadbare and barely soak up any water. Who would want one? Even if you had room in your baggage to carry it.?!
So now the things that I probably would have not said otherwise:
There is a fire and safety risk at this hotel. One of our two rooms was in the attic of the main building. There is no fire escape from this room which is on two separate floors. The windows are less than two feet square and high off the floor.
The second of our two rooms was in the \"other\" building where there is inadequate security. Another guest\'s room was entered and they were robbed during the night. We were not robbed, but were quite apprehensive thereafter.

London We, ( two couples ), recently stayed at U Tri Bubnu for three nights to visit the Christmas Markets. The hotel was very central,
clean, well equipped with good food. The staff were friendly and helpful and the prices excellent for a central city small hotel.
Prague in December, when the Christmas Markets are open is a wonderful place to be, and the quality of the hotel added to our enjoyment of this all too brief stay. Highly recommended.
