Hotel At the Three Drums

David & June Wood

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights during June 2005, and found the hotel exactly what we were looking for. Having tired of 4 star hotels which are all identical throughout the world, we decided we wanted something a little different. The hotel is situated next to the Old town Square and could not have been in a more ideal situation. We managed to see all the sights we wanted by walking from the Hotel, without using any public transport, apart from a boat ride.

The room was immaculately decorated with a really large bed, plenty of space, TV and a drinks fridge and was much better then some of the more luxurious hotels we have stayed in which usually have much smaller rooms. The ceiling was also beamed and the room was spotless with an ensuite bathroom.

The continental breakfast supplied was adequate but there were not many choices, having said that we did not want a typical English breakfast of bacon and eggs anyway !. Use the hotel\'s taxi service, it is much cheaper then elsewhere.

The receptionist staff were very friendly and pleasant and their English was perfect, and they made our day with a smile every morning and evening.

The only down points were there seemed to be an endless amount of steps to reach the 3rd floor and the breakfast room was very small which I would imagine could get rather crowded during busier months. Not everyone would be happy with the breakfasts though.

Never the less this was well worth the money and we would definitely stay here again if we decided to visit Prague in the future.

Absolutely great location, literally on the door step of some of the most beautiful sites in Prague. A good climb to some of the bedrooms but worth it for hotel location, adequate continental breakfast, clean and pleasant room. Very friendly, helpful staff. Thoroughly recommended.

I really don\'t want to big this hotel up too much otherwise I may not be able to re book!
This is a gem hidden literally just behind the Old Town Square, it\'s not for the infirm and even the healthy may struggle with the stairs, however the rooms are clean spacious and the beds are the most comfortable I\'ve slept in for a long time. The breakfast is very basic but adequate, recepetion staff are excellant and very friendly.
Overall I would say this is one of the best kept secrets in Prague and well worth a visit, the only thing that stops me giving it 100% is that our room constantly smelt of cooking from the restaurant downstairs;-(
But please don\'t take that as being for the hotel as a whole as I think we may just have been unlucky.

Just returned from a fantastic weekend in Prague.

We found the hotel on the internet and the staff were very helpful via email.

The hotel is in a fantastic location in the Old Town Square. It is close to the shops, bars and tourist attractions such as Charles Bridge.

The rooms in the hotel were very clean and tidy and the price was very reasonable.

The attic rooms are ideal for the young and fit but not so much for the elderly unless you\'re only staying for a couple of nights.

I would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone staying Prague.

We have just returned from four days in Prague this was my second time to the city this year the first time I stayed at the Hilton but this time I wanted a more tradition hotel I booked U Tri Bubnu (Three Drums) from the internet as I like the rooms as it looked very spacious I had also read the reviews on the hotel I was not disappointed my room was lovely large spotless clean with wood beamed ceiling and two window which allowed a good degree of natural light, there was only a couple of things which could have been improved with having a beamed ceiling we found it noisy with the room above us and the breakfast was just rubbish its not worth going to as guest were fighting over the only toaster and there was not enough seating for all the guest, but aside from this the location more than made up for a bit of noise and rubbish breakfast would definitely stay here over the Hilton.
