Hotel Waldstein

LittleBread

Right in the heart of the lesser city center ( lesser just means smaller) this hotel was perfect for exploring the areas around the castle, the st. Charles bridge and the town square. You will walk out from your hotel into the parking lot to see a dazzling view of the castle. The hotel management was extremely helpful, friendly, and able to speak english well. Breakfast is included and is served in a quaint vaulted hall in the basement. Parking is not provided at the hotel, but you can park at the Hoffmeister hotel secure parking area about three blocks from the Waldstein.

Stayed here for 3 nights in February. Wonderfully located Hotel in central Prague (Mala strana). Perfect for walking to the Charles Bridge, Prague castle, old town square and of course the main Wenceslas square.

I only had a 2 nights (as we arrived at 1am on Monday morning!) to sight see and the hotel was perfect after a long day at work to go out on foot and visit Prague.

Breakfast was ok with good selections of meats, cheeses, breads and fruits. And a small hot buffet of scrambled eggs and sausages. The buffet was included in the rate.

Rooms were very nice and well decorated. I would stay here again for the location and for the service

We really liked this hotel. The room was attractive and well decorated. We were in the adjacent section that many other reviewers have complained about but it was really no hassle although less able travellers might have diffculties with the stairs. The hotel is in a wonderful location - right under the castle, about 2 minutes walk from the Charles bridge and about 2 minutes from the nearest metro and tram line. The food was a bit basic but they do have champagne (Czech fizzy wine really) free with breakfast. Would definitely recommend this hotel to my friends.

Brisbane

A great place to stay in Prague, especially as it is in Mala Strana, in my view the pick of Prague’s districts. I have stayed by myself twice at Hotel Waldstein, and again with a friend in late October, when we had an apartment in the main hotel building, up a couple of flights of stairs. The rooms were spacious with antique furniture, and a good kitchen area, and large table and chairs. Coffee and tea are provided also. Breakfast (in an ancient cellar) is of good standard.

In my three visits to Prague, I have not used any form of public transport. All areas (Old Town, New Town, Jewish Quarter) can be reached by walking over one of the bridges, not far from the hotel. Recommended.

Wiltshire, UK

We arrived and were told we had no room due to \'technical\' problems. We were moved to another hotel, lacking any charm at all and a pretty far distant walk from the centre. We had the distinct feeling that overbooking was not uncommon (we were not the only couple so treated) and that this was a ploy to deal with overflow; namely to bitterly disappoint the holiday maker on Christmas Eve. In short a huge disappointment; the following day, once we had our bearings we booked into another hotel. In short do not take the gamble!
