Hotel Mucha

Bristol

Like \'Lovetravelling\' in July 2007 we too received a sheet of paper on arrival telling us that due to difficulties we had to be moved to another hotel. We were a party of 6 mature adults who had booked 3 x double rooms in July. When we asked why we were being moved the guy
said \"problem with water\". That was it! They provided the sparkling wine and a free taxi to another hotel 3 minutes drive away. The hotel
we were sent to was Best Western - Hotel Bila Labut. Suggest you book that! It was in a quieter side road. Could \"problem with water\"
be a case of over-booking? Mucha may run out of sparkling wine if this keeps happening. My recommendation - don\'t bother booking!

Manchester

Been twice to Mucha,June and Sept, going back again what more can i say,
Staff helpfull, good tram service 8 & 24 outside near metro.
Tram and metro pass a must to get round Prague.

UK

We found that this was a nice hotel to stay in.
It was in good walking distance of the city - no more than 10 minutes at Holiday speed.
The reception and hotel staff are very nice and helpful, giving good advice and directions.
We visited the restaurant on our first night here as we were to tired to venture out, the food was fine and well priced, staff were helpful and polite.
Our room was nice and big, although the beds were two singles pushed together and a gap of four inches of wood inbetween. We had asked for a double.
Breakfast is fine here, enough to choose from to keep you going well past lunch time. You can eat as much as you want and depending on which member of staff is on depends on how quick the food is restocked.

Prague is a lovely place although thereis a lot of graffitti - its a city so it comes as most citys do. good parts and bad parts.

You can book tours via the hotel reception, you can also order taxis from reception and they will add the price to your room. It is 240czk to the old centre.

The beer in the centre gets very expensive, almost three times as much from the local bars. Some restaurants in tourist areas charge a fee for sitting inside!!!

Near the hotel is a nice bar, turn right and carry on under the viaduct and its on the left \"the gate cafe\", just further down from here is a pizza and pasta place, really nice food and very cheap.
They still allow smoking in restaurants and bars, something we found off putting, even though the ban has not been around for long in the UK.

For a fantastic evening meal in lovely surroundings we would recomend \"U Petrske Veze\". In otherwords turn left out of the hotel, then the third road on the right and it is opposite the church.
Petrska 12., Praha 1.
We dined here for 2010czk although this was on a budget. It could get really expensive very easily but the food was fantastic and we would of gone again if we had not spent all our money.

We found a proper pub in the old town, called \"The Corsair\" it is located on LINHARTSKA. Two large PIVO\'s came to 110czk. A bargain!

There is a Charles Bridge Museum next to the Charles Bridge - 200czk entrance fee for two people, it was very interesting and worthwhile.
This area is a tourist \"trap\" and there are a lot of sus people around here so keep your property safe - as you would normally.

England

After seeing some of the other reviews on here, I was very concerned about what I was going to be letting myself in for a couple of days ago. Fortunately, the hotel is perfectly alright and I can categorically say that it is a four star and not a two star as suggested here.
The rooms were large and were just as shown in the pictures on tripadvisor. They were clean and in perfect condition. The basement where you eat breakfast was the newest part of the hotel, having been completely destroyed in the 2002 floods. They have some interesting pictures of them by the main entrance.
Breakfast passed without a hitch. There were plenty of seats and lots of choice of what to eat. The lady on duty was very attentive.
The one thing that is correct from tripadvisor is that the area is not the best. It\'s not the worst either, but I think that it is unfair to call it \'seedy\' as others have. The metro is a bit grubby and you are about 10 minutes out of the centre of town (by foot), but this did not detract from our trip in any way.
There are a couple of local bars in the area and a good restaurant agross the road and under the bridge (GATE restaurant).
In all, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of my stay although I should never have been forced to consider cancelling.

Yorks

Good location for getting into Prague attractions on the Metro or trams.
Nice clean comfortable rooms. Bar service excellent and not the usual hotel rip off prices.
One shortcoming is breakfast. If you lay up your own table and can find anything to put your food on and can wait 20 minutes for the food to be replenished, you are lucky, The waiting staff must smile first thing when they wake up...to get it over with for the day. Just take it on the chin and have a laugh because the rest of the hotel is fine.
