Hotel Mucha

Glasgow, UK

We stayd here for three nights in January and liked the individuality of our two single rooms (my dad and myself). Each room was spacious and well equiped and was fitted out with oak antique beds, wardrobes and chests and prints by the artist Mucha - a nice touch.
Staff were polite but could have been a little friendlier as it was our first time in Prague and we were looking for a bit of guidance. Nonetheless our stay was pleasant and started each day with a basic breakfast of the usual, cereal, fruit, breads, bacon and egg.
Mucha is located a good ten minute walk from the main touristy areas but not far from a metro stop and to be honest we enjoyed the walk along Na Porici into the Old Town Square - plenty of restaurants and biz on the way.
I would stay here again.

Shropshire, UK

We stayed at the Mucha at the end of Feb for three nights and were very impressed with the hotel and the service we received. Our room (no 16) was much larger than we expected and bigger than any hotel room we\'ve ever had before. It was well decorated with a lovely new looking bathroom and it was well cleaned everyday. The breakfast was your normal cold buffet breakfast that was adequate but nothing special, with the added bonus of a few hot items although I personally wasnt too impressed by these. The restaurant at the hotel served lovely food and was unbelievably cheap (a meal for 4 with 5 beers and a wine for about £12!!!)
The only thing I can say would put some people off is the location, it is a 20 minute walk to the old town but this didnt bother us as we like walking any way. And the trams stop almost outside the door and a Metro station is about a 30 second walk away so the location shouldnt be a problem if you use the transport system (which is very efficient and cheap)
All in all its a very nice hotel that is great value for the price you pay and we\'d definately stay there again.

Belfast, United Kingdom

We stayed there last year (before all that building work, it seems!) and were impressed.

There was lovely old furniture in the room which added ambience, the bathroom was clean and functional. Breakfast was your usual buffet which was more than adequate.

Location wise, while not central, was only about 10-15 mins walk to the Old Town Square. You wouldn\'t call the area touristy by any means, but the walk out was safe enough and we never felt threatened at anytime - even in the wee hours of the morning!

Would go back there.

Lancs, England

I have recently returned from a visit to Prague and stayed at this hotel (in the Franz Kafka room).

The hotel oozes character and is very well maintained.

It is situated only a couple of minutes walk from Florenc metro station .We used the metro at night having spent all day walking everywhere. It only takes about 10 minutes to walk to the Old Town Square.

Unlike at many other hotels we were not ripped off by the mini bar prices and a room safe is provided free at charge.

I would definitely recommend staying here.

UK

We just got back from a 4 night stay in the Mucha. The Hotel is in good condition (I think it has been refurbished after recent floods), and the staff are friendly and helpful, and speak excellent English. The room was large and comfortable, and the noise of the trams and trains wasn\'t too intrusive at night, although it was certainly noticeable. However the Hotel is a long walk from the main tourist areas, you have to go through some drab surroundings and under a motorway flyover to get into town. If you are visiting in winter and it\'s dark, bear in mind that the streetlighting in Prague isn\'t very plentiful. Obviously you can take the metro or tram and the hotel is conveniently sited for these but if you\'re looking for a base where you can just walk to restaurants etc in the evening then I would try elsewhere.

Also the rooms have lovely wooden parquet floors but if you have a neighbour who likes to walk around in the middle of the night with their shoes on, like we did, you\'ll need earplugs. We were also woken a couple of times by what sounded like drunks shouting in the street.

Overall, it\'s a nice hotel but not in the right place and we\'ll not be going back to it.
