Swansea UK Please note..... The review of the \"Grand Hotel Praha\" above does NOT relate to this \"Grand Hotel\". The \"Grand Hotel Praha\" is situated in the centre of The Old Town and is 4 / 5 star whilst this \"Grand Hotel\" is situated on the outskirts of Prague and is a 2 / 3 star.
I stayed at the “Grand Hotel” for five days from October 9th to the 14th. 2005
Before giving details of the hotel let me give you some information as to how to get to the hotel from the airport in the cheapest way possible. (And, of course, how to return to the airport).
Upon leaving the airport, across the road and you will find the bus stop for bus number 100. (If possible, you should purchase your bus tickets from the ticket office nearby). The cost of the journey, if you purchase a ticket in advance is 20K (50p). If you purchase a ticket on the bus it will cost you 25K. The bus will take you to the Metro station “ZLICIN”. You transfer to the Metro, (using the same ticket as you had on the bus) and get off at “FLORENC” (14 stops). Leave the metro station and locate bus number 133 nearby. This bus will take you to “TACHOVSKE NAMESTI” (just 2 stops away). Using the same ticket! Walk up the road from the bus stop for approximately 50yds and turn right. Continue for a further 50 yds and turn right again. You will see the Grand Hotel on the left hand side of the road. The whole journey costs 20K (50p)!!!!
The hotel itself was quite basic but sufficient. I was allocated room number 38 on the third floor, which was made up of four rooms! There were two rooms containing two single beds, a “lounge” area and a bathroom. The bathroom was very clean and reasonably spacious although there was no bath just a shower cubicle.
The bedrooms were clean, reasonably spacious but contained no wardrobes. There was just one alcove, with hanging space, located in the “lounge”. Fortunately there was no development outside the bedroom windows because the curtains were 30cms short and consequently did not reach the bottom of the window! (I still undressed with the lights out!).
The T.V. had only two channels …. Neither English speaking!!
Breakfast consisted of orange squash, coffee, boiled eggs, various hams, salamis, etc., bread rolls, jams, etc. (Continental style). There was no fried breakfast.
Overall I would rate the hotel as a two / three star offering basic accommodation at a good price. The hotel is reasonably well situated with a bus stop quite near, which takes you to the metro, (FLORENC) from where you can reach the Old Town (get off at MUSTAK) with ease. (All on the one ticket which costs 20K).

Priverno (LT), Italia ottima accoglienza; hotel ben servito dai mezzi di trasporto pubblici tram 9 e 5 e bus. resta un pò defilato dal centro ma ottimo per chi cerca una vacanza mordi e fuggi e poco costosa.
