Hotel Denisa

South Wales

We thought that this hotel was in a great location. A stone throw away from all the transport links which could take you anywhere you needed to go. Great bar across the road called issixis which you can drink all night for under £3. Local shop on the corner which sells everything. KFC nearby too.

We had a room on the 7th floor in the attic. The room was very airy and cleaned everyday. We had a kettle, fridge, minibar and tea/coffee.

Breakfast was contintal and plentiful. Eggs are cooked fresh on request.

All the staff were helpful and pleasant.

We would stay here again.

UK/NZ

Don\'t lock the bathroom door or take the lift, especially if you are travelling alone!

We arrived at around 7.30pm and went up to our room to freshen up before going out for dinner. My friend seemed to be taking an awfully long (and noisy) time in the bathroom, and then I realised that the noise was her trying to get the door open - the lock had jammed.

So I called reception and explained, and the front desk guy came up and agreed that it was jammed then explained that he could not fix it. There was no other staff in the hotel. We spent a while trying to pick the lock ourselves then I went down to the front desk to try and make something happen.

The front desk guy was only young and he was quite flustered by the situation but I managed to find out that he had called a locksmith who could do an emergency callout. So we waited and the locksmith arrived at about 9ish. He was very nice but he couldn\'t open the lock which was throughly busted. So after about an hour of trying he just drilled a series of holes around the lock - the wood was quite rotten anyway - and used a bit of brute force to break the door open.

So finally we went out to get dinner at around 10.30pm, by which time there weren\'t a lot of dinner options. Then back to the hotel, at which point we made the mistake of getting in the lift. It got stuck between floors, so we pushed the alarm button, waited, then pushed it again. Then our young friend from reception called through the doors to tell us not to push any more buttons but just to wait. So we waited and he reset the lift (I gather it was an everyday occurance) so that we could return to our room and step across the mess of wood splinters and paint chips to go to bed.

Up the next morning and down to an unusual breakfast - cheap frankfurters, jam doughnuts, boiled mixed vegetables from a packet... There was a reasonable number of choices available for a hotel in this price range - it\'s just that none of the choices were good ones.

There was no further word from the Hotel regarding the bathroom incident - I had expected a note of apology of similar - so the next night I asked about a refund which they refused and instead provided a taxi ride to the train station when we left the next day.

This hotel was rather basic, and old however the rooms had everything you would need, bath, shower, kettle, fridge etc the breakfast ok but i was not a fan of it myself. If your looking for luxuary dont book here if your looking for basic and cheap with all the amenities then its the place for you. I notice people complaining about the location however it might be a way out but its a 2 min walk from the local metro station which can get you to anywhere in the city in less than 10 mins plus its cheap.

Athens

We just returned from Prague to England. We stayed for 4 nights at DENISA HOTEL which was in the suburbs of the city center. It was about 6 kilometres so if you want to have a nice walk to the center it is not far away and it is a wonderful path until the center. Through the castle of Prague you are in about 15 minutes in the main square of the center of Prague. The hotel was quite good with clean rooms, delicious breakfast and quite polite staff. Next was a big super market, the metro station and the bus which take you at the airport . About 2 minutes from the hotel was a KFC and just next a delicious bakery with excellent sweets especially a croissant with caramel nuts and inside full of authentic praline of hazelnut.
If you are at Prague is just like a fairy-tale. You live and enjoy every minutes by exploring the castle, the strange and amazing clock, the old buildings with the detailed decorated status. The only problem was that Czechs couldn\'t speak in English but by using the body language everything was ok.--Try the pizza from the \"Albert\" super market!!!!---SO FOUND A PARTNER AND GO AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!!!!

Melbourne, Australia

t wasn\'t bad, but it was a bit out of the way. The breakfast was huge. The room was a good size and clean if a little aged, and internet in the lobby. Overall had no complaints except that it is a little out of the way - but not far from the underground railway so really only 10-15minutes away. Plenty of places to eat not far from the hotel, but apart from the first night I ate in town. Beware the last train leaves from each terminus at midnight - then you\'re in expensive cabs. As with anythjing you get what you pay for and I felt that it was pretty good value for money (don\'t pay the rack rate! as it was more than double what I paid through an internet booking service (easyjet I think). Prague is beautiful - enjoy! I would consider staying there again.
