Hotel Stirka

Athens

Been there with a group of friends. It is a really good small hotel. It gives a really bad first impression when you walk through the door and you got to go the basement to get to the lobby. Breakfast was great with lots to choose from. The rooms were clean and tidy. It is a bit far from the center but the Kobylisy metro station is quite near so thats no problem.

Houston, TX

This hotel was a nice change from where I had stayed at in Paris just days before. I don\'t know that i would stay there again, as i felt it was rather far from the city. Yes, you can take the metro, but I\'d like to have been a bit closer. Also, there is NO ELEVATOR, I\'m sure lots of hotels in Europe don\'t have them, but if this is very important to you, fyi. I had one suitcase and i had to drag it up 6 flights of stairs...good European experience :)

The room was surprisingly spacious, we were on one of the top floors, so it was slanted, nice to be able to open windows (even if weather was rainy and cold). Also, big bathroom with decent hair dryer and surprisingly good lighting. No shower, just a tub but with hand held shower head, no problem for me but my high maintenance travel partner was none to happy (i laughed at that one).

The breakfast was pretty good too. breads, jams, eggs to order, meats cheeses, more then enough to eat. the staff, i dealt with 3 different ones, i\'d say they were fine, not rude, but not that personable either, one was very nice though and even printed out a train schedule for me to find our way to Kunta Hora. also, there is a computer in the lobby you can use.

it was nice, price efficient, just a bit to far from the city for me, oh and every time you flushed the toilet, it squealed for 5 minutes, seriously, and I\'m talking loud.

Staffordshire

As there is no lift, if you\'re on the top, this can be a bit of a chore. Basic, and mostly clean, though a curious absence of toilet roll at times. Breakfast is good. No air con. The hotel really is is some way out of the centre. A good tip is that rather than walk up to the metro station, turn right out of the hotel, then immediately right again, and you\'re at the tram station (you want to go downhill to get to the centre). Also, if you want a slice of local life and food, walk up the hill to the end of Ke Stirke and visit the Hofman pub, easily the best spot for a pint and a bite locally.

Doncaster

Hotel was clean-but very basic. Not particularly comfortable and breakfast not very appetising.Staff also miserable and unhelpful. No lift-and we,a group of more mature(but not old!)women, were on the top floor-so probably suited more to the younger traveller. Also, not too close to Prague centre. When we asked a city centre taxi driver to take us to the Hotel Stirka,he didn\'t know where it was!On the plus side it was very reasonably priced.

Ireland

I stayed in the Hotel Strika for four nights in March. When we arrived at prague airport we took an airport minibus to the hotel the price was 499 crowns. this was excellent value for money as it left us off at the hotel. we were given a return card saying that if we used the minibus to return to the airport the charge would be 399 crowns. the night before leaving hotel i asked the reception if they would ring the minibus service to book minibus for return journey. this they refused to do saying that they had their own taxi and we were forced to use their taxi at a cost of 699 crown which we had to pay the receptionist at the time of booking. I found this unfair and I was sorry it happened as we had had an enjoyable stay at the hotel
