South East London Spent 3 nights at Hotel Stirka. We had a simple no-frills double room with ensuite shower, hairdryer, tv, kettle with tea/coffee etc. There is no lift. Room was fairly large and very clean but quite hot. We turned both the radiators off as soon as we arrived and left them off for our entire stay. Buffet breakfast had option to order cooked eggs. Caught the Airport Express bus (45kc each) from the airport to Nadrazi Holesovice, then one stop on the metro to Kobylisy (on line C to Ladvi). Come out of the station on the side with the trams, follow the road to the right and Ke Stirce is on the left. We used the trams the rest of the time. The hotel gave us 2 different tourist maps which proved invaluable - we never even used the unwieldy one that came with our guide book. This hotel was fab for a cheap city trip. The day we checked out, we left our suitcases at the hotel all day (til 6pm). If we come back to Prague, we would stay here again.

Houston, Texas My father and I spent three nights at the Hotel Stirka in November. The room was very clean, quiet and large enough for our needs (how much room do you need anyway?). The beds were comfortable and the en suite bathroom (with normal sized bathtub) was large with plenty of hot water. The breakfast, which was quite good, had both hot and cold items.
The hotel staff were very helpful and accomodating. There is a computer with free internet access in the lobby.
The Kobylisky metro stop is within easy walking distance as is the tram stop (Stirke ke). The city center is only 15 mins by metro.
The Stirka is located in a working class area of Prague. If you are a hotel snob, this is not the place for you.
But is your want clean, comfortable, safe and AFFORDABLE, you won\'t be dissappointed.

UK Great value budget hotel. Exceptionally clean. Tea/coffee making facilities in the room (unusual in
Europe). Great hairdrier. Friendly staff. Used the tram instead of the metro, nicer view and only 20 minutes from Wenceslas Square. Ample breakfast (if you can be bothered to get out of bed for it). Nice place to go back to after a hard day sitting in cafes.
We have booked to go back in February (our fifth visit to Prague in two years). If it ain\'t broke dont\' fix it!

Lisbon, Portugal I visited Prague with my mother and stayed at the Stika Hotel for 4 nights. We had a triple for 2 and was really very nice. The room was very clean and nice with Tv (CNN and Eurosport), tea and coffee.
The bathroom is clean and the toals are changed every day.
The continental breakfast was very good, with a lot of choice, we tried tosts, cakes, muesli, ham, etc. And they have hot food as well.
The hotel is about 15 minutes from the centre if you use the underground-We got a 3 day ticket that cost about €6. The underground is the best way to go to the city center and was easy to use and only 7 mins walk from the hotel.
At the reception desk there are a lot of information about prague: public transports fares, concerts, tours; and they have internet access free of charge.
The gentlemans from the hotel reception are very helpful. The ladies from the reception are not very friendly. I would recommend this hotel to everybody, because is an excellent combination price/quality.

UK I travelled with 8 friends and stayed at the Stika Hotel for 3 nights. We arrived at around 10pm and were eager to find our rooms. We had 3 double rooms and mine was a triple. Our room was tiny and suprisingly one of the doubles was much larger than ours and had 3 beds! But we didn\'t let it bother us. The rooms were very clean and adequate. The bedding was of a good quality and changed every day.
The continental breakfast was ok, we tried omelettes, museli, fruit etc. And there was always plenty of choice of toast, pastries.
The hotel is about 15 minutes from the centre if you use the underground-We got a 3 day ticket, cost about £5.The underground was easy to use and only 10 mins walk from the hotel.
The hotel reception staff are very helpful and informative. They printed us train times off the web so we could make our own way to Terezin 30 miles away. I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a no frills cheap holiday.
