swansea, south wales. u.k. We got to the stirka hotel at about 10 o clock at night,we were told when we booked we could change our room from a single to a double, but there were no other rooms available. Our room was four flights up the stairs in the attic and our beds were opposite sides of the room, but they were very clean and warm. After the walking we done all weekend we did,nt care where we slept. The breakfast was lovely a selection of meats, cheese, danish,s and breads, tea coffee and juice. we were hungry when we got there so after following instructions from other customers, we turned left out of the hotel to the top of the road then turn right you will find a resturant which is very cheap, but the food was delicious. you will also find the metro st we paid 20 krona which was a one way ticket,it is 4 stops to get to the museum stop, then follow the road down into the town. Apart from having two single beds in the room, the hotel was lovely and we would stay there again.

Warwickshire, England Arriving very late Friday evening we did wonder where on earth we had ended up, but the sight of tea/coffee facilities in the clean room was very welcoming! Bed was comfortable, inviting bathroom with hot water, tv with cnn news & english Eurosport. We went out to find somewhere to eat, & found a bar/restaurant we would whole heartedly recommend...but be warned! The atmosphere is great, the staff friendly, the plates are big and the FOOD......comes piled high, tastes wonderful and is cheap!! 4 main courses with side vegs (which you could manage without) with a couple of drinks each, no desserts...no room left!..and we had change from £30! Turn left out of hotel, walk to top of hill, turn right and you will find the trams and Metro, (above which is the aforementioned bar!) the best value for money on public transport i\'ve ever used! Be sure to get some coins to buy your tickets first. The Metro takes you to city centre within 10 mins for about 50p, & what a beautiful city it is! After a long days walking around it, we were thankful for the comfortable bed, and the good choice of breakfast next morning before starting off another jaunt!. Thanks to all concerned.

NE England We went to Prague for 5 days and chose to stay in the Hotel Stirka which was outside the main centre. For the price we paid, about £40 a night for room and breakfast, we felt that we got excellent value. The room was very clean, large and comfortable and the buffet breakfasts were very good. We bought 7 day tram tickets for around £6 which gave us unlimited travel and because of the excellent tram service, being outside of the centre was not a problem - in fact it had some benefits - when we arrived the temperature was in the 30s and where the hotel was, was a little cooler, also got to see some \'locals\' and paid cheaper prices for drinks etc.
We travelled with Easyjet and everything went smoothly. To get to the hotel (and back to the airport) we used the cedaz taxi with its fixed price as recommended by Tripadvisor correspondants.
We loved Prague itself - so much to see and do and no sign of any pick pockets. Our only disappointment was an excursion out of Prague which was advertised as \'no need to book, just turn up\'. We did that on our last day and were told that it was full!

Long Beach, California I spent 3 nights in March at the Stirka. The location was my biggest concern, but it is in a quiet part north of the city center. It is only a few minutes walk to a subway station, which runs til midnight, and even closer to a tram stop, which certain lines run all night long. And its less than 20 min from city center, even on the tram. The room was clean and well cared for. It was also fairly large for european standards. The reception is open 24 hours and helpful. The breakfast was average for a european hotel, with a decent selection of hot and cold food. I would definitely stay there again, and for 35 Euro a night, it was a bargain. If you\'re looking for the Ritz or 4 Seasons, then dont stay here, but if you just want a safe, clean place to rest while spending time in Prague, than this is a good buy.

Boston, Linolnshire, England just got back today stopped at Stirka for 3 nights
well impressed with cleanliness, friendly staff and service at the Stirka.
first thoughts ,its a bit out of the way, as we have been to Prague before, but the tram and metro was about 7 minutes away, and there was a small market on the way to the metro and a few shops. The receptionist was lovely and there was 24 hour service The breakfast was fantastic there was eggs, ham, cheeses, pastries, soup, yogurts, fruit, tea, coffee, juice ,cereal and it was fantastic value at about £12 a night with breakfast you cant go wrong!!!!! would definitley go back there again. Rooms were lovely and warm with tea, coffee facilitles included and clean towels and red hot water. we will go back next year
