Prague, Czech Republic Hotels and Apartments

Its a clean, warm and friendly place. My partner and I were happily surprised by the service of the staff there, fresh towels daily, beds made, nice pleasant clean room. The breakfast was provided in a clean dining room with fresh bread rolls on the table ready. Breakfast was simple but plentyful and an excellent standard. The hotel is situated in an excellent position for both tram and metro. We will be back as soon as we can!

Upon arriving at Hotel Stirka, we were somewhat amazed to find that this hotel had been listed as a 3 star hotel. In Prague maybe, by our standards it was phsing either 1 or 2 star. Very very very basic dull rooms, twin beds pushed together but different heights anyway, how nice and unromantic. TV reception dreadful, no english speaking channels (ie for news etc). Although there was 24 hour reception service, to come down to reception before breakfast and find the receptionisht asleep in the bar area was so pleasant!!! Walls are paper thin in this hotel, and I mean paper thin, we could hear the conversation going on in the next room, even with our TV on even with us trying to drown out the noise.
Nice enough location, but certainly a lot more than a 15 minute run into the city centre.

Wir haben das Hotel fuer eine Staedtereise fuer 4 Tage gebucht. Es ist ein sauberes, gepflegtes und zweckmaessiges Hotel ohne besondere Merkmale mit gutem Fruehstueck. Es liegt in einer ruhigen Gegend. Mit der Metro oder Strassenbahn kann man von dort schnell alle wichtigen Punkte in Prag erreichen. Die gastronomische Angebote in der unmittelbaren Umgebung sind beschraenkt.
