Prague, Czech Republic Hotels and Apartments

This was the final stop on our 3 city eastern European trip and we were most surprised by this little gem of a hotel tucked one block in from the water front, very close to the Charles Bridge. From the moment we walked into the room, we felt like we had arrived in a 5 (not 4) star American (not European) hotel room. It\'s been a while since I\'ve seen chocolates on the pillows and terry cloth bath robes in the bathroom waiting for us. There is not only the usual minibar, but a hot plate, sink and enough utensils to set up a meal if one had carried in some food from the small grocery located about 3 blocks to the south of the hotel. You cannot turn your head in the common areas of the hotel without seeing a piece of artwork, sculpture, or ornate iron staircase banister. There is an inner courtyard and a resident grand piano. The annex restaurant serves a meal on a par to the best in the city and the hot buffet breakfast is taken in the wine cellar which consists of 2 vaulted ceiling rooms with pleasant lighting and decor. The price of our stay was hidden in the cost of our multi-city package, but we did learn that the cost of one night with breakfast for 2 was 3950 CZK, about 125 euros, which makes this hotel the best bargain by far. We were there in early June, 2005.

When it was time to go to the airport, we were given the hotel taxi with a flat fee which was very reassuring, given all the tales we had read about eastern European taxi drivers.

We endorse this hotel most heartily and hope you enjoy it as much as us.

This hotel is 5 minutes walk from Charles Bridge, on the same street as a great little bar which stays open late. It\'s luxurious, friendly, quiet and clean and does an amazing breakfast all for 85 euros a night when we stayed in March.
Our room had a kingsize bed, a kitchen area, a bathroom with huge walk in shower and a balcony overlooking the courtyard! It also had the cheapest minibar I have ever encountered (half a bottle of czech champagne for £3.50!)
This is a newish hotel and was such a bargain that I can\'t help but think that the prices will rise in the future. Get in now before they do!

Stayed at the Leonardo for 3 days in february and had a great experience. The hotel was very clean, the staff courtious and very informative. There was something for everyone during b\'fast. I would definately stay there again.
