Sited right next to the castle, it's about 15mins from charles bridge (downhill, but uphill on way back!) Stayed Sept 2003, very clean, was lucky to be on top floor facing city so got great view of sun rise.
Breakfast basic, cold buffet style. Staff speak english and smile a lot, also have a nice jack russell dog. There are a few very good places to eat nearby. Not the most centrally placed but nice all the same, but it's a canny uphill walk from the nearest tram stop so pack light unless your getting a taxi.

We stayed at the Golden Star during Easter 2004. The location is fantastic, minutes from the castle. Our room was beautiful, we stayed on the top floor and had a beautiful view of Prague. The hotel is situated at the top of a steep hill, so walking back to the hotel is a bit of a struggle, but worth it, as the hotel is situated in the quieter part of the city, with nice restaurants and a few bars. A good restarurant to go to is called 'Cerny Orel', it's up a side street, near the bottom of the hill, very busy restaurant, which is a very good sign. The continental breakfast is nice and the staff are friendly. We would definitely go back to this hotel.

Location, Location, Location steps from the Prague Castle on Nerduva St. This is not for everyone as you have a 5 - 10 minute walk from the end of the Tram line but peace and views make up for any inconvenience and a nice stroll after dinner. We were upgraded to a suite for no extra charge and it was heavenly. We had two nice rooms, classy furnishings, pleasant decor, 3 bathrooms and alll the soft, fluffy towels you could ever need.
Service was helpful, friendly and the rooms were immaculate. This truly is all it says it is and a very good value. We got a late deal pay 5 nights and stay 6. Internet access; good TV reception with English stations and a nice spread for breakfast.
Great Showers with enclosures so none of the floods common in so many European rooms.

We decided to stay at this hotel after excellent reports from family members and oh how right they were. This hotel is lovely. Its very clean, very periodic and full of charm with lots of its old features still in tact (e.g. beams, wodden floors etc). Although its approximately 10-15mins walk to Charles Street Bridge, the views over the city are stunning and the walk is very pleasant along the cobblestoned Royal Way. There are lots of little cafes and restaurants close to the hotel so we never had to venture far away at night. The old town and New Town are lovely for shopping during the day but I would have been gutted if I'd been staying there. If you're looking for something "special" this is the place to stay. (Be sure to request a high floor to appreciate the views fully)

This is a great place to stay in Prague. The hotel was fabulous and our room was well above average. We chose the suite since we have a young child and it worked out very well for us. Two and one half baths was much more than we expected. The view was spectacular and the service was terrific. The price was very good and we would, without hesitation, stay here again. A thoroughly enjoyable stay is practically guaranteed!
