Paignton Devon
The Golden Star (Zlata Hvezda) is a brilliant place to stay. Just underneath the castle (access to the castle is just outside the front door) and if you ask for a room on the fourth floor, the views are fantastic. We would highly recommend any one to stay there. We found the staff to be friendly and helpful. It is very clean, well kept, lovely comfy beds, gorgeous bathroom and very warm - as the temperatures outside were very, very cold (but Prague really is best in the snow!!!!) I booked our stay directly on line through a company called D&S Bohemia Ltd and a lady there called Katerina she was very helpful and also arranged our transfers to and from the hotel, the drivers were very nice, helpful and on time. When I read the reviews on the hotel some stated that it was up-hill - we didn't think the hill was very hilly actually, but as we live in Devon, maybe we are used to it. My only real disappointment in Prague was Wenceslas Square - too many UK shops (i.e. Debenhams, M&S, KFC, McDonalds, etc!!!!) looked more like any UK high street but everywhere else very magical - cant wait to return!

It was my birthday and my girlfriend was visiting so we decided to book a long weekend in a Prague hotel instead of staying at my place. Managed to get an online deal of staying 4 nights and paying for 3.
Location to Prague castle is perfect and old town square is a 25/30 min gentle window-shopping stroll away across Charles Bridge. The hotel itself was in a word superb. Firstly the cleanliness - the room was spotless!! I am one of those (very annoying)people who insists on bathrooms and sheets etc being clinically clean and I simply couldn't fault this hotel. The room was bright, the ceilings were high, the furnishings are lovely, and the bed was to die for! and don't even get me started on the wonderful bathroom with the biggest corner bath tub I have ever seen :)
The staff were all very polite and friendly - one of the desk staff even recommended we call an independant taxi firm to get my girlfriend back to the airport because the hotel car service was a little bit expensive......now how cool is that! Breakfast buffet was simple but more than adequate to start you off on a days sightseeing - bread rolls, toast, fruit, yoghurts, cold cuts and cheeses, fruit juices, mueseli and cereals, tea, coffee etc
The 4 nights passed all too quickly and it was soon time to leave. Check out time was a very civilised midday but we managed to over-shoot that quite a bit - truth is we found it REALLY hard to leave and in fact, once packed, took the chance to have one last soak in that glorious bath tub :)
despite living here I intend to stay at Zlata Hvezda again later on this year as a treat but this time try one of the suites, and I can't wait! I hope anyone staying there enjoys it as much as we did.
