Hotel Maximilian

San Juan, Puerto Rico

This hotel is perfect:nice staff, nice location, very clean, very good breakfast, nice rooms, very modern hotel. I had 42\' plasma in my room. Everything in this hotel was perfect. I\'m planning to come to prague again in 2 yrs, but with better weather(to cold right now) and I\'m not gonna search for another hotel because Golden Tulip Maximillian was perfect.

Ballydorn

We chose this hotel after reading the reviews and would heartily endorse all the good reports, especially the friendly helpful staff. We booked a superior room and were upgraded to their only suite which was very chic. We booked transfers through the hotel which were limousines. The cost was cheaper than many transfers adverised on the internet.
The hotel is in a very quiet area but only ten minutes leisurely walk from Old Town Square. Everyone says Prague is no longer cheap, which is true but tickets for the State Opera (booked online) are very good value.
Tip: For a cheap cup of coffee try Marks and Spencers cafe on Wenceslas Square where you can get coffee and complimentary piece of shortbread for under £1.

Palo Alto - California

We stayed for four nights at hotel maximilian and had a wonderful time! We were always happy to return to it at the end of the day, and I kept saying \"I love this hotel\". Our room was clean and quiet- very modern with a comfortable bed and a great shower. They even leave complimentary bath salts. The breakfast is outstanding with tasty eggs, pastries, fresh fruit, gronola and almost anything else you would want in the morning. One added perk is that this is one place in prague you can actually receive service with a smile. Highly recommended to anyone!

London, UK

Just returned from a long weekend in Prague at the Maximilian. I chose this hotel based on all the great reviews it had here and was not disappointed! I would thoroughly recommend it. I did wonder about the location as everyone said Mala Strana is so pretty you have to stay there (which it is) but the location of the Maximilian was great. I am glad we stayed here rather than the busier tourist trail as I have to say Prague was absolutely packed with tourists! I was surprised by this in early November but I was last in Prague 12 years ago and things have changed a lot! The hotel was only 5 mins walk from the Stare Mesto square and there were a handful of great pubs and restaurants - NoStress cafe for good coffee and a relaxed atmosphere, Ocean Drive for late night cocktails, Kolkovna for typical Czech beer and food - I could go on! NB: It also felt safe walking to the hotel late at night even though it is behind the main streets. The hotel itself is very modern - a little bit brightly lit for me - but the rooms were great; tastefully decorated \"boutique\" style and had a large comfortable bed. We found the hotel staff extremely friendly and helpful. There is no restaurant on site but there\'s an ample buffet breakfast and a \"help yourself\" bar. As everyone else has mentioned the free internet service is also a nice touch. We also tried a massage at the Sabai studio in the basement which was a great addition to a thoroughly relaxing weekend. Enjoy!

Have just spent a weekend at the Maximilian and found it excellent. As other reviewers have said, the staff were very friendly with perfect English, the decor was clean and modern, the breakfast was excellent and there were nice touches such as a bar area with free tea/coffee, an honesty bar and plenty of Prague books for browsing.

The location is very central in the Old Town/Josefov area, with a safe feel.

Only gripe (minor) would be that some of the \'comfy\' chairs were picked for how they looked rather than how comfortable they actually are to sit in.

All in all though an excellent hotel.
