I recently traveled to Prague with my family and stayed at the Maximilian Hotel. It\'s location was great, just a short walk to the Old Town Square. The rooms were very nice and modern (likely recently renovated) although some are a bit small. The bed was pobably the most comfortable hotel bed I have slept in and the complementary breakfast was excellent. The staff was friendly and efficient. Our only concern was the assistance we received from the concierge. The travel arrangements made through them were sometimes more expensive than finding a taxi willing to use his/her meter. Remember to ask first and compare. The tour guide company they suggested for a particular excursion we wanted was very disappointing. All in all I recommend staying at the hotel but be sure to do your homework before going and don\'t rely solely on the concierge for information.

We arrived in Prague late, about 6pm, on September 12th. Not knowing what to expect entering the modernistic lobby was a very good first impression. Entering the room, and seeing the plasma 32\" TV simply added to the 1st class impression. The bath with the waterfall shower was another plus. The bed, a king, was very comfortable. The breakfast room was equally modern, roomy, and bright. The selections were very good. The scrambled eggs in the chafing dish were excellent as was the service. The staff was excellent, spoke perfect English, and sought to please. They have an honor bar as well as free coffee, tea and pastries, all at one end of a room, with couches, sofas and chairs, to meet with friends or business associates. Across from it is a library with magazines and papers, and the couches and seats very comfortable. They provide a hotel car to run to the airport or train at reasonable prices. There is a room with two free PC\'s with Internet access and an attached LAN printer.
As for location, the Old Town square is three or four blocks, maybe 4 minutes walk. Everything is within walking distance. There are three excellent places to eat either next to the hotel or around the corner, nice if you\'ve arrived late and don\'t want to trot over to the square.
All in all this is an excellent hotel in an excellent location. We\'d stay there again.

Experiences of others who have posted their reviews of the Hotel Maximilan
mirror ours exactly. Recent 2005 renovations are spectacular. Rooms are absolutely immaculate, good size, very comfortable with bathrooms one sees in the magazines. Staff, the majority of whom speak English, could not be more helpful or knowledgeable. Location is very convenient, within walking distance of just about anything you want to see/do. Service is quick and efficient. One simply could not ask for better accommodations.

The Maximilian could not have been a more perfect hotel for my stay. The location is perfect...about 2 minutes from Old Town Square, on a quiet street and near many great bars and restaurants. The rooms were clean, nice-sized and comfortable. The free breakfast was delicious. The library, honesty bar and computers were helpful. Most of all, the staff was amazing. They were helpful throughout the week coming through the most to help in a slight medical emergency by providing translations at the only 24 hour clinic nearby.
The Maximilian really made my stay in Prague a wonderful experience.

We stayed at this hotel for 4 days, the reception staff were excellent, the cleanliness was great, the hotel was minutes from the Old Town square, a great location. I strongly recommend this hotel.
