Bristol I've just got back from a really good stay at the Andel's hotel, the staff were very accomodating and the rooms were excellent, always very clean and very well maintained by the cleaning staff. I would definitely recommend this hotel and its not too far from the sites. If you do decide to get a taxi from Charles Bridge it should cost you no more than 200Kr as we got charged alot more on the first day. The Hotel is very good at organising taxis and informing you of what the charge should be. Previous advisor recommendation about transport from the airport was really good and very helpful. If i go back to Prague i will definitely stay at Andel's again

England Booked a three night stay to prague just after xmas last year. Had been looking at the reviews on Trip Advisor for the Andels Hotel and generally most rated it well. Booked through an internet agent and emailed the hotel before going to ask for a quiet-ish room as it was a romantic break.
Arranged a private transfer from the airport to the Andels which we'd definately recommend. Driver was waiting in arrivals hall with card with our name on and within 15 minutes we were at the hotel.
On arrival was greeted and given our key cards for the lift and room. We were upgraded from superior to Club rooms which meant we were on the 5th floor.
The reception certainly has a wow factor, very modern and bright and airy.
Room was excellent, exactly as it looked on the website and although we didn't have a 'view' it was perfect. Bathroom had a glass shower and glass partition for the toilet which although at first did look slightly odd certainly made an impression. Mini bar in room had good selection of drinks but we bought our own additional water or cola from the shop just aroung the corner.
As we'd been upgraded to Club rooms we got water each day, plus robe and slippers which was a nice touch.
Rooms were cleaned daily and very immaculately.
Location- was in Mala Strana area of Prague and about a 15-20 mins walk from most areas. Trams, once understood which ones went where were easy to use and you can either ask the bell boy at the hotel for a taxi reservation or phone direct. Best not to jump into one on the street as they d charge astronomical prices.
Big shopping centre straight across the main road from the hotel which also had a cinema and restaurants inside which we never did use so can't comment on these.
Hotel bar and food-Oscars is a very good bar in which to have a few drinks after an evening out in Prague, prices are the usual around 320c for a beer and a whisky. Only had breakfast in the hotel and there is a good selection to choose from. Opens till 10.30am on week days and 11.00am weekends. Could never get the toaster to work though!!
Prague itself is a fantastic city, were both slightly aprehensive at first as had heard a lot about stag weekends and sleezy parts but in the three days and nights that we were there we never saw any of this. Admittedly we did go Tuesday to Friday but even then there were no obvious rowdy groups around.
There is so much to see and do in prague that I'd go back, we went for three days thinking that would be enough but five would certainly leave lots more to see. The views from the castle and the cathedral tower are amazing as is the view from the clock tower in the square. Be warned though, take comfortable shoes for daytime.
Food-there's plenty to choose from. We went to La Pearl de Prague on our first evening which has an amazing view over the skyline. The food there is fantastic and the service is very attentive. We must have had three waiters just for our table....on our second night we went to the Garden in the Opera, which again had amazing food and service. Our last night was spent at Kampa Park which you can see from Charles Bridge on the Castle side of the river. This was pure romance, sat on the terrace overlooking Charles Bridge with candles on the tables under the stars, again here the food is wonderful and all three are worth a visit.
Drinks-plenty of cafe bars to sit and watch the world go by if you have afew spare hours throughout the city, prices vary dependant on how near you are to the main attractions.
Crowds-went in July and although there were plenty of people around at all times we never felt jostled for space or unable to see what we wanted to. Best recommendation is to get out early in the morning. You can easily fill your day walking around seeing as much of the sights as possible.
We certainly plan to go back and would stay once again the Andels Hotel.

Toronto, Ontario, Canada I stayed at Andels from June 12-15 and it was fantastic! The staff were very nice and friendly and there was a taxi cab service for the Airport with a very reasonable price range. The rooms were very clean and quite spacious and the breakfast was great! I'd highly reccomend staying here to anyone!!!

Manchester, England Booked 3 nights at the Andels hotel as a surprise for my boyfriends 30th and it was brilliant. The rooms were great, very chick and the maid came everyday. The breakfast was good, some dishes were strange but very nice, well worth getting as it fills you up until lunch time. The hotel bar was great, i reccomend all of the cocktails! The hotel was in a good location and it was nice to stay on the other side of the river away from it all as Andels is a very cosmopolitan district with nice bars and restaurants too. Followed previous reviews about the airport transfers and they were spot on.
Ignore other peoples negative comments (some people just go on holiday to complain and pick at things!). It was great and i will definately be returning sometime soon!

Lisboa, Portugal This is a very nice hotel, for a number of reasons:
* Good location - not too close to the touristy centre but close enough to be an easy walk or a quick tube ride
* Bedroom is excellent - comfy bed, nice amenities including DVD. It was also very quiet
* Bathroom was modern and good quality - could do with more shampoo and gels though
* Breakfast was good with a great variety
* Service was friendly enough
* Facade is interesting - not a Mooucha style so characteristic of Prague, but rather modern and different
