Hotel Andel's

Sydney

I highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here again when I return to Prague.

Although it isn\'t located in the main \'historical\' part of Prague, it is within 15 minutes walking distance and I found that it was quite a pleasant walk from the hotel, across the river and up towards the Charles Bridge.

The breakfast, from 6am-10am, was sumptuous and there was quite a lot of choice. The staff in the breakfast room were extremely efficient and friendly, as were all of the staff in the hotel in general. When our transfer to the airport didn\'t turn up (which we\'d organised with another company), they offered one of their hotel cabs to take us at a comparable rate.

There is no business centre but there are two computers with high-speed internet access in the lobby which can be used free of charge, although there is a sign which asks guests to limit their internet usage for 15 minutes. When there is no one else waiting to use it, however, the staff don\'t mind if you stay on it for longer.

The room was always very clean and tidy and the beds were so comfortable!

I stayed at the Andels Hotel for 4 nights whilst attending a conference so felt I\'d give it the thums up for this purpose.

Whilst its location is not ideal for exploring historic Prague, it is only a couple of stops on the metro or tram (metro is easy to use, didn\'t try the tram but am told it\'s equally as easy).

My room was large and clean, with all the usuals: tv, mini-bar, tea/coffee etc

Conference facilities were great, refreshments varied and timely and all meals eaten at the hotel offered fantastic variety and quality.

All in all a great hotel

Trust me, this is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in!

It takes a lot for me to be impressed - and Andels did not disappoint. Everything was perfect! The location is ideal, you literally have a tram stop on your door step - the trams run on a trust system, you buy a ticket and stamp it yourself. There\'s a tourist tax if you are caught without a validated ticket... and fined £136! Anyway, the trams will take you to where you want to go in about 2 minutes (i\'m rubbish with public transport but even I could found my way around). You\'ll get the tickets in the wee newsagent shop where the trams stop.

The actual location the hotel is in is quite a new area of Prague so everything is really modern. This is ideal for having a nice night at a restaurant and a few drinks - if you want to see old Prague then you\'ll have to jump in a tram. I travelled with my husband and two mates - £35 for a 2 course meal with drinks in all of the restaurants in this area (you could probably get it even cheaper - and we\'re talking really lovely, upmarket restaurants).

Near the hotel is a large shopping mall with restaurants and pubs (and a marks, tesco and even a next!). Not bad for a wee wander through or for a quick drink.

Back to the hotel - when you arrive the staff are ready and willing to help you straight away. So helpful, courteous and quick. while you\'re checking in a bellboy will take your cases to your room. When you get to your room you will find a modern, spacious area which is extremely comfortable. A large bathroom with shower cubicle, bath/shower, and separate toilet cubicle. The bed was so comfy - I slept so well! The next day we had breakfast which was included in our deal. The breakfast is totally mad from toast, croissants to rice and soup! I wouldn\'t bother paying extra for this but it was a nice wee extra.

When we left the hotel ordered a taxi for us - they have a set price so you know that they\'re not taking you on some crazy journey to try to rip you off (the hotel taxi is the best bet if you plan to take a taxi anywhere in Prague). They also kept our bags for us until we left for the airport.

All in all a fantastic stay. As for Prague I\'d say it was a fantastic city but a few points to note if you have never been before-:

- the pickpockets here are real pests - I haven\'t experienced anything like it (from Barcelona to New York, this is extreme!). Don\'t be put off, just hold your purse in your pocket, out of sight!

- The beer is really really cheap and they sell spirits, beer etc at the stalls on the street of Wenceslas Square

- Wensceslas Square is a long street :-D

- O\'Che\'s and Rocky\'s are the two best Irish pubs - avoid the sports bar off wensceslas, near the strip clubs.

- Get a map, you could end up walking for miles! prague seems small but sometimes going for a wander takes you well off course!

- although you hear a lot about stague parties etc we never saw any in Prague (only on the plane)

Go for it - you\'ll really enjoy it and I promise if you\'re a bit unsure you won\'t go wrong with Andel\'s.

We have just got back from a long weekend in Prague and stayed at Andel\'s as it seemd good value for money. This is a lovely hotel from beginning to end the very helpful staff did all they could to make our stay wonderful.

We arranged a taxi with through the hotel from the airport which cost about £20 and was worth every penny as they were waiting for us and carried our luggage to and from the taxi.

The rooms are quite big and extremely clean with a very well stocked mini bar and bathroom with bath and very large shower. The bed was by far the comfiest bed we\'ve everr slept on in a hotel. Breakefast was also unfaultable with a huge selection. We ate in the hotel restaurant (which is open untill 1am!) on the first evening we arrived and had a lovely meal with great service too.

We were alittle worried that this hotel would be a bit \'out of town\' and yes it\'s not in the city centre, but either a 5 minute tram ride or about 15 minute walk along the river will have you right in the action. This said there is quite a lot to do around the hotel, lots of shops bars and restuarants to choose from.

Overall I can\'t really fault the hotel at all. This was our first visit to Prague and we\'ll definitely be returning and without a doubt will be staying at Andel\'s Hotel.

With great attention to detail in architecture, modern decor, and service, this hotel excels as a wonderful place from which to launch your tour of Prague.
