Paisley Hotel Legie is a good value budget hotel located just 5-10mins from Wenceslas Square. The rooms were spacious and clean and were cleaned every day. No hairdryer or kettle in the room, so take your own, but you can use the safe for 100CZK a night. Staff on the whole were friendly. Breakfast wasn\'t superb but you could get a basic cup of tea or watery fruit juice plus breads, meats, cheeses etc. We decided to skip it most mornings as there were plenty of bakeries and cafes in the surrounding area.
Was pleased with hotel location as there were a number of great pubs, restaurants and cafes within 5 min walk. Pubs tended to close at 11pm but the Legenda (turn right then left from hotel) opens til 2am and there is a 24 hour \'Non Stop\' pub directly below the hotel at street level. There are also other Non Stop pubs (which look like mini-
casinos/amusement arcades) in and around Legerova street. Hotel staff were helpful and even looked up the internet for tourist information
when we asked.
Only unfortunate thing was the massive number of Italian students who were staying at the hotel. I overheard two guests complaining about the noise they were making but the hotel responded well and said they would phone the police if need be!
Can\'t really complain about Legie, it was great value for money and we had a pleasant stay. A very decent no-frills place to stay. We booked a tour with Best Tours company through the hotel and were picked up outside. Our tour guide Michael spoke excellent English and was very knowledgeable. For 600CZK we had a Grand Tour of Prague lasting 3hrs. Good value for money, mini bus takes you around all the main sights like the castle area, Old Town Square/Astronomical Clock and Charles Bridge. Michael even gave us some recommendations for pubs/
restaurants.
Half a litre of beer cost around 30CZK which is about GB£1! Vodka and other drinks tended to be a lot pricier. To get best value for money, stay well away from Wenceslas Square for food/drink. Prices in bars there are easily three times what you would pay if you find somewhere a few streets away.
Excellent metro system, which is handy for visits to areas like Andel where you can tour the Staropramen brewery.

West Sussex This hotel is very good value for money, given its proximity to attractions, standard of cleanliness and range of foods for breakfast. I would have no problem booking this hotel again.
This hotel is in a very good location. The metro and tram services are across the road from the hotel and within easy walking distance of Wensleslas Square and Museum. The hotel is a budget hotel and therefore attracts school parties. During our stay there was a teenage school party who were in celebration mood on their last night! This was NOT the fault of the hotel, so if you are looking for total peace and quiet don\'t choose a hotel in lower price range bracket. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Good selection of breakfast foods on a buffet basis. There are no tea and coffee making facilities/hairdryers in rooms, so take your own travel kettle/hairdryer if this is important to you. However, towels were changed every day, and there were soap dispensers located next to the bathroom basin and inside the shower. The rooms were very clean with potted plants in each room and very warm and cosy to be in. We had a problem with our door lock, and within 5 minutes of notifying reception, a handyman was there attending to the problem. We were offered another room, so had the opportunity to experience sleeping at the front and rear of the hotel during our stay. We did not find sleeping at the front of the hotel a noise problem and our room had a fantastic view of the Castle and beyond. Within a few minutes walk of the hotel there are some inexpensive restaurants. Three course meal plus bottle of wine came to £25 for two people, and the food is very generous sized proportions.

Gloucestershire The hotel was very basic but clean and tidy. No hairdryer which was annoying!!!! Breakfast was OK, not much choice but sufficient.. Our room was on the main street but the noise didnt keep us awake, it was fine! It is a very basic hotel but the price reflects that. There were 8 of us - 22, 22, 25,27,40,48,35,42 and all of us found it to be satisfactory for the money we paid.
Prague itself, i had heard that it was dirt cheap and yes its cheaper then UK but not as cheap as i thought a pint of lager (their brand) and a wine was approx £3.00 - £5.00 (depending on where you went). Food was OK, we paid for two of us £21.00 - drinks and food (only one drink each). Lovely place to go and visit...lots to do and see. Clothes shops were not cheaper some were more expensive, although was nice to visit C & A\'s!
We all had a fab time, the hotel was fine as a sleeping base!

scotland We arrived last week in Jan. by taxi from airport ,having reserved same for fixed price at booth within terminal and whilst still being suspicious of a rip off found that the taxi meter was spot on the quoted price and whilst the hotel is near Pavlova underground station would not have liked to have attempted to get there on our own. Taxi was about £18 one way - be cheaper if you can arrange to share.
Hotel room originally allocated was on floor 5 and on the corner with two single beds - one under the window and one by the door. My wife was not impressed and on complaining to reception we were given a double bedded room on the 8th floor which was just as well since we dicovered that the 5th floor was fully occupied by students ( school age) and was extremely noisy. This seems to be quite common in prague as there are school parties everywhere as well as stag parties. Room and bathroom were huge and comfortable and clean. Only complaint was that towels although changed every day were a bit worse for wear and needed replacing, They were however clean as were sheets.
B\'fast - had better - basic continental with limited roll selection and juice with a hint of flavour. The hot dish varied between fried eggs and spam fritter? to scrambled egg , large frankfurter and combination thereoff. Yoghurts ,jams ,cold meats and fresh whole fruit were also on offer with plentiful tea coffee. Dining room overlooks main road and you can watch Prague go by.
Hotel is 5/10 mins walk from wenceslass square from where you can access the old town and charles bridge etc.
Be prepared for plenty of walking and do explore allthe side streets - perfectly safe - where you will find plenty of local restaurants bars at good prices and tastes to suit all.
We stayed from Mon to Fri night and found it just a little too long - 3/4 days probably ample to see everything. Don\'t do the boat trip - waste of money as it really goes nowwhere.
For a short break the hotel was adequate and unless you wish to spend a lot on 4/5 star centrally located hotels was as good value as you could get in terms of location and facilities.

Blackburn Lancs Just come back from The Legie Hotel in Prague and had a fantastic time.We got a AAA taxi from the airport to the hotel(AAA are a very reputable firm and have a taxi rank right outside arrivals) and we paid 600Kr (about £18).Always agree the price before setting off.The hotel was standard and our room on the 6th floor was spacious and warm with a good sized bathroom and a hot and powerful shower. The lift was a bit out dated but it did the trick and there is a lot of noise from the very very busy road right outside the hotel. Every emergency vehicle in Prague must blaze past the hotel with sirens blaring aroung 100 times a day each!.Our room was facing the back of the hotel so we wasn\'t too bad but there is some building work going on at the rear but not that noisy. We had to be out of our room by 10.00am on the day we were coming back to England and as we wasn\'t flying till 21.30pm we asked reception if we could leave our case with them and they were very helpful and locked it away for us in the hotel reception area.Had a walk to Prague TV tower (bout 25 mins from hotel) and for 150Kr (about £4.50each) you can take a lift to the 8th floor (300 feet up) and have a breathtaking view of the city!!! The hotel arranged a taxi back to the airport for us(600Kr) and as you walk into the airport.to the right is a guy who wraps your cases up in what seems to be a strong \"clingfilm\" for extra safety. There was quite a crowd around him getting this done and I couldnt see the price but if your case doesn\'t lock (like mine didn\'t) i strongly advise this service!!! I had 400 cigarettes for family members(which were concealed in clothing)stolen from my case by either the Prague baggage handlers or those in Manchester. This incident spoilt what was a nice stay in Prague but I only have myself to blame so I hope this review comes in useful for anyone travelling to Prague!!!
