tombowcock As many have commented before this hotel is not situated on Wenceslas Square, but is about a 10 minute stroll away.
So if you are expecting to be on the square this is not the place for you. For us the short walk was no problem, and in fact rather nice.
The hotel itself is very much like many other Novotel hotels with its own distinctive brand and styling. We found it to be modern, clean and comfortable. It also has the benefit of a Fitness suite, swimming pool, sauna & jaccuzi...all very nice after a long tiring day as it does not shut till 10:30pm. All of the staff were exceptionally polite and helpful and can not be faulted at all. Even though we were a family of 4 in one room there was still plenty of space.
I am told the food is very good in the resteraunt, but slightly expensive by local standards (about the same as UK). However immeadiately across the road is a fantastic Tex-Mex restaurant called Banditos. My family and I spent all week in there for both breakfast and dinner and found it excellent. Mike, Micha & Paul are exceptionally friendly and speak perfect english.

Lichfield We stayed here just after xmas 2007, when we arrived our room was ready, no problems with ckeck in (although someone at one of the other check in desks was complaining that they had been waiting half an hour for a room to be prepared).
We had paid a bit extra for a luxury room although that had still worked out pretty cheap. We had a lounge area and massive bed plus en-suite was well equipped. Plasma TV on wall although only english channels were News. Minibar was not too much of a rip off and there was an in room safe.
The hotel advertises itself as being on the main square although actually it is a ten minute walk from it, this however is no problem as Prague is quite small and you can walk everywhere.
Don\'t drink or eat in the hotel as it is a complete rip off in the restaurant/bar area.
Tips for Prague:
Right near the hotel is a place call Pivovarsky Dum, it is an amazing micro brewery that does great food and a big selection of beers, we definitely had the best food of the trip there (including Catfish which I had never had before)
The Medieval Torture Museum near Charles Bridge is worth going to, quite gruesome but really interesting (plus the guy on the front desk was asleep so we got in for free)
Prague Castle is also very good to take a look around, try to get there for the changing of the guard.
I wouldn\'t bother going up either of the towers on Charles Bridge as you get a better view from the Castle once you are there.
Avoid drinking on the cafes around Wenscelas Square as they rip you off. Look for bars on the side streets as they ten dto be much better value. Also avoid the rather dull Irish bars as the beer is a rip off, the only thing they are good for is catching up with Sky Sports.
