Hotel Leonardo

Aussie in czech republic

This is a truly beautiful hotel, it retains much of its original renaissance architecture. The interior decorations both inside the hotel and in the rooms themselves are a wonderful sight to behold and create a truly archaic atmosphere. One could fully pretend that time has been wound back in this regal and historic place. A guided tour of the hotel revealed spacious relaxing rooms, each individually styled and decorated. The service here is excellent, and advice on parking and general tourist information can be obtained from the fine people who work at reception. If you are looking for a fine historic hotel with realistic prices than you had best stay at Hotel Leonardo. For our next trip to český krumlov we will certainly come and stay here again.

Amsterdam, The Netherlands

Stayed in the hotel for 2 nights at the end of Decemeber. The rooms are furnished with taste, big bathrooms, location is perfect. Couldn\'t recommend more.

Chicago

We stayed at the Hotel Leonardo for 2 nights in October. You cant beat the location, its right in the middle of the historic area. and around the corner from the square. even though we stayed in the 2nd floor room overlooking the bar next door, we didnt hear any noise coming from it. The room was very clean and spacious. There was so much attention to detail in decorating, it was like visiting someones home. There were places to sit and read, and interesting features like the peep hole under the stairs. Breakfast consisted of delicious breads, meats, cheeses and fresh cucumber & tomatoes. The 2 ladies who were working there were very helpful and friendly. I cant imagine a more perfect stay. We loved all of Cesky Krumlov, but staying at Hotel Leonardo made it even better.

Sydney, Australia

Found this hotel on the internet. It\'s just off the main square in Cesky Krumlov. As a previous reviewer pointed out the parking is 10 minutes away, but this is a medieval town with tiny narrow streets, and on street parking isn\'t really an option.
The hotel has been renovated to a very high standard (great bathrooms) and is quite quirky, with bookcases and reading areas round every corner, and framed hotel bills etc on the walls.
Breakfast was very good, with cereals and yoghurt as well as cheeses and cold meats and the staff were very helpful (especially when we needed an auto mechanic because the car had a flat battery).
The only downside was that there\'s a nightclub across the road and it was pretty noisy until about 3 am, and you need the windows open in summer, so you really get the noise.

Miami, Florida

The Hotel Leonardo is in a convenient location, just off the main square. The room was clean, and quite spacious for three people. The bathroom was large, clean, modern, and it had a fabulous bathtub. The staff, the few times we saw them, were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious, with plenty of variety. The price is reasonable.

The best part of this hotel is that it is located in Cesky Krumlov, a gorgeous medieval town that is a World Heritage site. This town is paradise for photographers, and there are plenty of activities, too. This town has one of the best websites I have seen - look it up.

What we did not like about the Leonardo: There is not much of a view. The extra bed for my teenage daughter was uncomfortable. The top floor room we stayed in was hot in the summer (no air conditioner). The stairs are slanted, slick and dangerous. The street below is noisy at night. Parking is included, but the lot is a ten minute walk from the hotel. However, I suspect that this is true of all hotels in Cesky Krumlov.

If you are not on a budget, stay at the Hotel Ruze instead. It has a great view and nice amenities. The Hotel Dvorak is in a great location on the river, with a nice view of the castle.

Hint for summer travel in Europe, which seems to be getting hotter every year: If your hotel does not have air conditioning (which is very likely), do not stay in a room on the top floor. Hot air rises, and there is little air circulation in these old hotels.
