Hotel Ambassador Zlata Husa

Winchester

Good looking hotel in good position, excellent views from the front bedrooms. Most advertising photograps though are of the spectacular conference facilities which gives a very good perspective of hotel., but which you never see if you are an independant/ holiday traveller. ( a bit misleading) Room large, clean and comfortable, bathroom facilities excellent. Not really a 5 star hotel though, which was rather disappointing considering the price.
Biggest problem though is the noise outside the hotel which goes on well into the early hours of the morning from disco/pub revellers and keeps you awake. Plenty of police presence adjacent to the Hotel at all times.
For this reason, I would not recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a restful night.

Athens, Greece

It is a very nice hotel in a central location, 5 minutes walking from central square. The only negative about this hotel is the personel that are not friendly

Herts

We booked a room at this hotel after a disastrous night in the Hotel Duo. It is in a great location, right on Wenceslas Square.

The staff are friendly, and the rooms are clean and had lovely furnishings. Other reviews have mentioned that the furnishings were dated, but our room was lovely.

We had our bed in a little encave which was separated from the rest of the room with gauze curtains, it made me feel like a princess!

Breakfast was excellent, all the usual fare, but also chocolate pancakes! What a treat.

The only downside was the air conditioning broke down in the early hours of the morning on our second night and the staff were completely unhelpful when we asked for a discount to compensate.

Miami, Florida

Stayed at this Hotel from October 10 to October 12, 2007. The location of this hotel is excellent. The guys at the check in were very nice. Even joking around with us since we speak spanish. We were trying to teach them how to say \"good morning\". We had a two bedroom suite which was not located on the main street so the noise was minimal. We slept with the windows open because being Europe and October, the A/C is turned off. It is within walking distance to the Old Town Center, Charles Bridge and the Castle District. There is a Metro Station right on the corner which we had no need to use. Since it is right on Wenceslas Square, there are many great places to eat. Even the \"Sausage Trucks\" along the street had great food.

The breakfast at the hotel was great. The Omelete Station and Crepe (pancake) station were wonderful. They had everything you could think of on the buffett. It was more of a \"brunch\" since it also had Goulash and Salads.

I would stay at this hotel again in a heartbeat. The room was clean. The only problem is the shower stall was quite small. My husband is 6\'4 and 240 lbs and could not close the door properly.

I guess if people want to watch television in English; expect people from a foreign country to speak their language, and eat their kind of food; they should stay home. In America, we don\'t have many chanels speaking in Czech or German.

I saw no criminal elements like others saw. It is a very busy area at night since it is the main square full of stores, restaurants, bars and clubs. I loved the fact there were people on the streets at all hours and there is policemen everywhere. I felt very safe in Prague. Beautiful and friendly people.

Leicester

I stayed at this hotel in October 07 based on positive reviews on this site. In my opinion there are far better hotels in Prague for the same or less money.

The hotel whilst beautiful is rather dated, the rooms were not furnished to the standard of a 5* International Brand such as Marriott or Hyatt, there was only 1 English TV Channel, the beds were not comfortable and the housekeeping service was poor.

Overall this isn\'t a bad hotel if you can get it cheap and you are not expecting the normal 5* service and facilities. I did find the customer service in the hotel and the overall friendliness to be particularly poor.

On a more positive note it is great to have the jacuzzi in each room :)
