Northamptonshire We went there on the Celebration Package and stayed in a Junior Suite. The room was dirty and noisy (even though it was on the top floor). The foyer just stank of stale smoke and beer. The location was very scary at night - drunks hanging outside the hotel all night, but fortunately there were police everywhere. The worst thing though was the advertisements for prostitutes in the hotel lifts - probably encouraged by the Thai massage available at the hotel. The receptionists didn\'t seem to care, they just shrugged their shoulders so it didn\'t seem unusual. As for the food, that was plain scary so we just left (it was part of the package, hence we did at least try), although we were the only ones in the restaurant anyway. Can\'t recommend, in any way unless of course you want to go for a Thai massage or a prostitute, then I am sure it would be fantastic.

Ipswich, UK Stayed 5 nights in late September. Would recommend this Hotel very highly, and would use it again ourselves. Worth paying the extra for a \"junior suite\", the room was great and very large. Huge king size bed. Front desk staff very friendly and helpful, but bar staff less so. No problems with noise and we had a room straight opposite the main street, others who have mentioned it should have closed the windows as the double glazing stopped any noise from late night party animals. Prague is a very lively city so why go there and moan about people enjoying the night life? I am 60 and I loved it. Beautiful city and very friendly people. Will without doubt visit again and try to get back to the Zlata Husa. You have to fill in your birthdate when checking in, 3 days later we came back to the room to find a complimentary bottle of wine and some roses on the table as they had noticed it was my wifes birthday on the form: a really nice and unexpected gesture. The only down side were the bar prices - don\'t go there. Use the local back street bars and drink at one tenth of the price.

Suffolk My husband and I stayed for five nights in a large suite, comfortable overlooking Wenceslas Square. Desk staff were friendly, efficient and helpful and room was very clean. The hotel even surprised me by delivering flowers and wine to our room on my birthday. Breakfast was very good with a wide choice available until 11am. The location was fantastic and although there was some street noise, this was only to be expected right in the middle of a busy city, and it was never a major problem (and could have been shut out by closing the double-glazed windows!) Frankly, the pleasure of ‘people-watching’ more than compensated for any late night noise. The only negative point was the cost of the bar and restaurant which were both unreasonably expensive (with bar service being quite slow and unfriendly), especially when there are so many excellent, and very reasonably priced, pubs, bars and restaurants nearby. We’d certainly consider staying again on our next trip. Prague is a beautiful city with a wealth of cultural activities to pursue – plus a vibrant, busy nightlife. If you want a sleepy town, this isn’t for you!

Surrey We would only recommend this hotel to insomniacs and stag night attendees.
The hotel has a casino. Unfortunately it also has a nightclub called \"Goldfingers\" which advertises \"lap dancers, table dancers and erotic dancers\". It attracts very noisy and drunk clientele most of whom don\'t seem to leave until the closing time of 4am (Sundays included). The only sleep we managed was between 4.30am and 7am when the building work commenced (both in front of and behind the hotel). The hotel is used by German tour operators so if the workmen don\'t wake you then the tour buses will! We did try earplugs and sleeping pills without success.
In the UK the hotel would probably be rated 3-star. It is \"tired\" and based in the cheaper part of town - surrounded by shops such as C&A and next to a McDonalds.
On a more positive note....
1) the hotel location is very handy for the main attractions
2) our room and ensuite were large and clean. The jacuzzi bath was particularly welcome after sight-seeing. (The air-conditioning was a free-standing unit but it did work. We had a couple of problems with the lights and the bath-plug but the staff quickly sorted these out)
3) the breakfast buffet was extensive and the food good - better than most 4*/5* hotels here. The restaurants did not appeal in the evening - nor did the lobby bar (it was empty all 3 nights).
4) most of the staff seemed friendly and helpful
5) the Thai massages were excellent although firmer than what we are used to in the UK. The \"Thai Wellbeing Centre\" seemed legit but pricey (1500CR for a 55 min massage - roughly £41).
If we returned we would probably stay at the Crowne Plaza (quiet, immaculate and near Petrin Park and the Castle) or the Intercontinental (noisier but more central and opposite the river).
We really enjoyed Prague itself - there was more to see and do than we had expected. We easily filled 4 days. The Old Town, Little Quarter and Hradcany (around the Castle) areas are very attractive. Food and drink prices are reasonable - we didn\'t feel ripped off even in the tourist areas including the Old Town Square. Don\'t miss the views from Petrin Hill - well worth the climb! When visiting Prague Castle or the Jewish Quarter try to go early - otherwise the places are deluged with tours! Also St Vitus\'s Cathedral (in the Prague Castle complex) is closed Sunday morning (this wasn\'t mentioned in our guidebook).
If you need to stock up on food and beverage there is a Tesco\'s on \"Narodni\" road - about 10 mins from the hotel or use the local corner shops which are cheap.

East Yorkshire Having stayed in quite a few European 4 stars, I would say that this hotel is a cut above them and does have many of the features you would expect from a 5 star. The bed was extremely comfortable, the room a good size with masses of storage space and spotlessly clean. Bathrobe and slippers are provided and there were some nice little touches, such as chocolate on your pillow each day! The bathroom was large and very smart and the jacuzzi-style bath was great for soothing tired feet after spending all day walking around the cobbled streets of Prague. Yes, the stuff in the mini-bar was overpriced, but isn\'t that always the case? There was a fantastic selection of breakfast fare, seemingly catering for most nationalities and tastes, and again a nice touch was the chef making fresh pancakes for you. I think the Wenceslas Square location was great and everywhere is within easy walking distance. However, If a room with a view is a must for you, a standard superior room in this hotel might not be a great choice - we were at the back overlooking a construction site! (Although, to be fair, there was very little noise). One minor gripe - we had to pay 100CzK (£3) to leave our luggage on the last day because we had a late flight back. I think this sort of thing should be included in the price of the room, especially in a 5 star. However, I would definitely recommend this hotel.
