Alan Reynolds The hotel is converted from an attractive old mansion and has retained
the high ceilings, wide corridors and circular staircases (which would
not satisfy UK fire protection rules!) and spacious entrance area. It adjoins an Ibis hotel, a lower price brand in the same Accor group of hotels. I was originally booked for 2 nights (Friday and Saturday 2 and 3 November) at this hotel but when I was bumped at the Novotel on the morning of 1 November, they found me a room at the Group\'s Mercure
hotel at the lower Novotel price. So I stayed 3 nights.
Room 217 is what the Mercure describes on its website as an Executive double. It did not seem that big to me but the receptionist assured me
she could show me smaller rooms! It had a comfortable double bed and settee, as well as desk and armchair. The bathroom and toilet was compact, with a shower cabinet (no bath). Clothes hanging space was limited. A kettle and hair dryer were provided but not iron or ironing
board. I slept well. Room looked out onto an inner well but, as the hotel fronts a busy road and several tram lines, this was better than a road-facing room.
The hotel is on the edge of the Old Town (stare meste) and lies within
walking distance of Namesti Republiky (Republic Square) on line B, and
Namesti Miru on line A of the metro. It is much better placed than the
Novotel for getting to the main tourist sights.
Breakfast on the ground floor was buffet style and was very busy on the Saturday morning. Coffee was served in thermos jugs. There were juices, yoghurts, interesting bread and rolls, fresh fruit and cheeses. Overall, good quality. I paid CZK 443 (EUR 16) for a breakfast. More interesting was a breakfast in the baroque style kaverna in symphony hall at Namesti Republiky. It is very photogenic and atmospheric.
I paid CZK 4709 (EUR 170) per night for the two normal nights + breakfast.
There is no pool in this hotel and no sign of a business centre but I found two Internet shops between the hotel and Wencelas Square (tram 14 from hotel).
The laundry used by Novotel and Mercure lost one of two shirts I sent them. It took several conversations with Reception to get EUR 15 compensation.
A very enjoyable hotel. I would stay again if visiting as a tourist. Novotel might be better for business

Manchester I chose the word unpleasant carefully as opposed to unwelcoming which was too lightweight or surly which would be unfair. During our four night stay we were given two good morning greetings by housekeeping. Full stop. We ordered the executive package with nonsmoking room and not too far from stairs or lift as I have a bad back and use a cane. On arrival we were sent to the furtherest room on the second flooor and it smelled of tobacco. Our executive package was not on the computer. The night porter tried stonewalling us until I got annoyed. The matter was redressed the next day but without any apology. The hotel does not have executive rooms. What you buy in the executive package is the loan of a dressing gown, disposable tooth brush and loofah, two free drinks and access to Wii.. However no one shows you how to access the latter. When will I ever learn to read the detail. The final example of the word unpleasant was saved for the last day. We were having a leisurely breakfast when our plates were removed by the restuarant manager without so much as \'have you finished\'\' We were too gobsmacked to say anything.

Israel Nice and clean hotel. Excellent location in the heart of Prague. My husband, I and our 5 years old daughter stayed there for 4 nights and really enjoyed it. I would recommend this hotel for people who look for nice, central and not too expensive hotel.

Paris Hôtel très bien situé à quelques minutes à pied des principaux monuments de la ville. Très bon confort, calme. Le concierge nous avait organisé le transfert aéroport hôtel (très pratique). Nous recommandons cet hôtel pour votre séjour à Prague

Dublin Stayed here a couple of times and found it to be very pleasant. The hotel is located 5 minute walk from the main centre, the breakfast is good. The room was comfortable.
Overall I would recommended. The price of hotels generally in prague is expensive, but this seemed like value for money.
