Prague, Czech Republic Hotels and Apartments

This proved to be a clean, efficient hotel, but we reaped the benefit of having read other reviews which advised asking for a quiet room. This we did and were given one at the back of the hotel, which must have been preferable to one at the front, as traffic noise from trams and cars must be a problem. Police sirens are particularly prominent in Prague - they seem to switch them on every time they change gear. The hotel is in the Little Quarter and is about 10-15 minutes\' walk from the Charles Bridge and about 25 minutes\' uphill walk to Prague Castle. But one of the main attractions of Prague is that just about all the main attractions are within walking distance of the centre if you have the inclination. The hotel has no lunch or evening restaurant but offers a decent buffet breakfast selection - not the traditional English breakfast, though there was scrambled egg and Frankfurter sausage if that is a must for the Brits. The reception desk staff spoke good English. Good luck with the traditional fare if eating out - they seem proud of their dumplings, which resemble either slices of bread or the hardest of rock cakes. Easily the best-value meal I had was a huge mixed grill at the trattoria which is only 25 yards from the hotel.

I stayed at the hotel roma for my 30th birthday this year and it was perfect.

the hotel is idealy located, just a short walk or tram ride to the heart of prague. although if you dont want to travel too far for food, drink, sights or shopping (after 3 days of exploring the whole city our legs started to get a little weary) the local area has everything you need. lots of bars and resteraunts and all within a 3-5 minuet walk.

the rooms are big and very clean. breakfast in the morning is good, and the staff are very friendly.

in all this hotel makes the ideal base to explore the wonderfull city of pragie.

When we go back to prague next year we will definately be booking the hotel roma.

Stayed for two nights at the Roma hotel in Prague and loved it! From the airport, you have to take bus 119, the metro A and finally tram #22 (Ujezd). It took us about 45 minutes but it was very easy and cost us only 20 korunas per person (and 10 more for the luggage). The tram stops right in front of the hotel. we arrived before noon and left our luggage since it was too early to check in. When we came back later in the afternoon, they check us in very quickly and nicely. The room was big (we had a triple room), clean and nicely furnished. The bathroom was big as well and very nice. The breakfast was really good and it was possible to eat it in the garden. The lobby was a nice area and I loved their big aquarium with a baby shark in it! There were a couple of computer with internet access but I did not use them. Finally, just next to the hotel there is a tourism office which is pretty convenient. To go back to the airport, we asked the hotel for a taxi and it cost us 690 korunas.
