Hotel Roma

Somerset UK

We stayed at the Roma for 3 nights. It was easy to get there from the airport; bus 119 until it terminates then tram 20 to Ujezd. You can buy your tickets inside the airport if you don\'t have change. On arrival we were upgraded to a suite. Everything was clean and well appointed. The staff were kind and helpful. Breakfast was busy but there was plenty of choice. The hotel is well situated, the trams stop nearby. We especially enjoyed the food and atmosphere in the Mexican Cantina restaurant nearby (booking is advisable as it seemed very popular.)

Taunton, Somerset.

My wife and I stayed here for our wedding anniversary. The hotel was pleasing to the eye from the outside and inside we weren`t disappointed either. The hotel staff were friendly, helpful and spoke perfect english. The hotel and our room were very clean and tidy with all the ammenities you would require for a short city break. Its location was good, only a five minute walk from the Charles Bridge (Its on the castle side of the bridge). The only downside of the hotel was the bar never seemed to be open, but perhaps we just caught it at the wrong time. Overall i would definatley stay here again, 100%, it was ideal. Once you are in Prague we would strongly recommend eating in the `Le Prince` restaurant, right by the astronomical clock. Its great for sitting outside and people watching. Its a really top restaurant with live music inside for very little money.

Visited this hotel last autumn.
The weather in Prague was hot, almost 25 degrees in September.
The hotel was very clean, our room was very spacious with a big bathroom. But as other people has mentioned the walls can be very thin so you here your neighboroughs. Luckily ours were quiet. The breakfast was good and the service nice.
The location is superb, if you don´t mind public transportations.
The tram stops right outside the hotel and several different tramlines goes past the hotel. To the Charles Bridge it was only 2-3 minutes by tram and if you´re walking it takes 10 minutes. If you take the tram in the other direction you´re in the centre within 10 minutes. We usually always buy a weekly transportation card whereever we go and use it almost to the maximum. You never know where you´ll end up.
We ate at twice during four days at the restaurant close to the hotel. Le Bastille. Very good food and after a long day at the city very short way to the room.

South Glos. England

Stayed first weekend in December. Ended up with new rooms on top floor (attic). Small but created to a high standard - great bathroom.

Location of hotel excellent - less than 10 minutes walk to Charles Bridge. As others have said tram also stops outside hotel.

Support others review of restaurant next door to hotel. Good food – good price

Just returned from a fantastic three day trip to Prague over the Christmas holidays! We stayed at the Hotel Roma in the Mala Strana and were very happy with our choice. Hotel’s lobby, bar area (in lobby) and breakfast rooms are large and nicely decorated and the staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was also clean, well decorated and had internet access (we asked for a cable at the reception.)

One of the main reasons we chose the Hotel Roma was that we drove our car and needed parking which was available in the hotel’s underground garage for an extra 400 CZK per night.

As other reviewers have mentioned, the Hotel Roma is a bit off the beaten path, but we found this to be a plus, as the neighborhood was relatively quiet (our room was away from the street, which probably helped, too!) In addition, transportation to the major sights is very convenient as the tram stops directly in front of the hotel (buy a ticket at the tabac shop around the corner from the hotel) and trams run every 10 minutes or so. Walking, it’s still just 15 minutes or so to the Charles Bridge from the hotel, which was doable even in cold weather.

Christmas was a great time to visit: we took an organized walking tour of the stare mesto, jewish quarter and the castle district on the 24th. Coincidentally, Christmas Eve was the only night we had trouble booking dinner reservations, but we eventually got one...I\'d book earlier than the day of if I had it to do it over again, but it wasn\'t a problem. Finding a restaurant on Christmas Day was no trouble at all, and many shops were open, as were Christmas markets.

The Hotel Roma is a solid choice if you are looking to stay in the Mala Strana in Prague and we would stay there again.
