Hereford UK We stayed in December 2006 for 4 nights on a visit to the Christmas markets and chose the Roma hotel mainly for location and cost. The location was ideal - a five minute stroll to the Charles Bridge and the cost excellent. We were however absolutely delighted to find the comfort and size of the rooms much better than we\'d hoped. The hotel was fresh, very clean and very tastefully decorated. There is a good modern bar area and a smart adequate restaurant. Breakfast was well stocked and the staff very friendly and helpful. All four of our party would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.

bournemouth We stayed at the Hotel Roma for 4 days at the end of January 07, it snowed from the moment we got there till we went home, think it was about -8 so wrap up warm! Getting there was a slightly hairy taxi ride from the airport (which you should pre-book/agree a price otherwise they may take you a long way round, for this hotel 550-650 czk is about right. On arrival, the hotel had a lovely spacious reception area with big lounging leather chairs and a nice size bar. The staff were very helpful, you can buy tram tickets from here, maps and they can arrange your taxi back to the airport too. The room we had which was 310 had a superb balcony (from what we could tell the only one) nice clean and fairly new bathroom (with hairdryer) and clean and tidy room. They also had a free safe in the cupboard which was really useful. Breakfast was good, the usual variety of hot and cold. The hotel was very quiet and we slept really well all weekend. They had free internet in the reception, again very useful and a huge fish tank with an amazing shark swimming around. You can get easily around by tram but we decided to walk everywhere otherwise you may miss out. The walk to Charles Bridge was about 10 mins. We were opposite Petrin Hill where you could take the Funicular train upto the top where the views are brilliant. This is were you will find their version of The Ifel Tower. To sum it up, we will be visiting Prague again and will be sure to stay at the Hotel Roma!

Belfast, Northern Ireland Myself and my girlfriend stayed here for 5 nights in freezing cold February.
Our room was adequate sized, very good and clean bathroom, usual facilities. The breakfast was standard continental fare. To be honest I didn\'t even realise there was a hotel bar as there was so much to do in the surrounding areas. The staff were very freindly and offered lots of sightseeing and social advice. The hotel was a little out of the way (maybe 20 minutes from the Old Town and about 15 mins from Wenceslas Square) but I wouldn\'t want it any other way. Lovely quiet surrounds and well lit front and back.
Hotel was very handy to the castle and Charles bridge, Petrov hill and some really excellent bars and restaurants. I can only recommend the restaurant on Ostrov island (one bridge south of Charles bridge, steps down on to island). Took my girlfriend for her birthday - amazing service, stunning views over the Danube, beautiful food and cost us about £40 for 2 three course meals with a few drinks (no wine) and a generous tip. Also for drinks try Zanzibar - a little cocktail place just off to the right at the castle side of Charles bridge that plays jazz music and has a 70 page cocktail list!

Newcastle, England My girlfriend and I visited the Roma Hotel in September 2006 and found it ideal for our needs, which were relaxation not too far from the city centre. The rooms are clean, and well maintained. The one minus point is that the walls were a little thin and we could hear our neighbours showering! The breakfast was of the continental variety and was better than we expected with a good choice. The reception and bar area is very modern with a huge fish tank built into the wall and free internet access. Although the hotel is situated a good walk from Charles Bridge and the other tourist attractions there are good (cheaper!) restaurants and bars near by. We ate in the main tourist area once, and were charged 15% for very poor service! Getting to the Roma Hotel couldn\'t be easier. From the airport you take the 119 bus to where it terminates and then the number 20 tram. It only costs CZE 20, much cheaper than a taxi and far more enjoyable! Surprisingly, public transport is very good in Prague. Overall, the Roma Hotel is a good clean hotel in a good location if you want a bit of peace and quiet!

Duvall, Washington We stayed her for 4 days in September. I loved the location tram right out front and a short walk to bridge. Great Bagel place close by & bakery and bar next door. Very close to several places to eat & shop
Down side- We could actually hear people using their bathrooms and not just to shower was not very nice. Walls paper thin is an understatement. Through the posts we were told to ask for a room in the back which we did yes you can not hear the tram but we heard the drunks in the apts next door every night coming home and yelling so not sure which is better. The beds we were told at booking would be 2 twins - we got in room one big bed could not even separate into twins. Luckily since it was my sis in law and me it was not to bad. The shower-tub was horrible had to hold the shower nozzle in one hand while you tried to wash with the other water everywhere in the bathroom just got to be a joke after a couple days. Also last couple days the maid did not even give us clean cups and glasses was like they no longer cared just gave you towels and thats abot it.
The breakfast was actually very nice. The had plently of things to choose from so made that part of the stay OK.
When I go back next year I will be staying at another hotel.. But I may stay in the same area as I loved the Mala Strana location
