Long Island Stayed it the Siefert during my stay in prague this month. This is a good hotel with clean rooms at a relatively affordable price.
The staff was couteous and helpful. The front desk sells drinks and tolietries. The rooms and bathrooms were clean and you could request new towels on a daily basis. The rooms also include a minibar (a surprise for a three star hotel). The Breakfast was included in the price of the room and was also good if not spectactular. This is a small hotel which has rooms opening up to a courtyard and rooms which face the street. If you do not like to sound of speeding cars, you should request a room on the courtyard.
There is a bus across the street from the hotel which takes you to either the metro in two stops or the oldtown in 15 minutes.
Given the rather limited hotel stock in Prague, this hotel is a great option. This hotel would be a five star hotel if it were in a better area of the city. There are three bar-casinos on the same block which I did not bother to venture into. The area is safe during the day but I would walk with someone at night

England The reviewer that wrote \"noise noise noise\" wasn\'t joking, although I feel was being overly generous to this place, and I believe most of these reviewees are created by the owners of this hotel. The floors are tiled and everyone walking about sound like elephants. The doors slam as if someone is kicking them shut. I couldn\'t believe a hotel could have been designed so badly. I didn\'t get one good nights sleep in a week. holiday ruined. And let me tell you this, I\'ve slept through helicopters hovering near my house (according to my wife). I sleep very deeply, but the noise in this place takes the mickey. The staff can\'t be bothered to deal with disruptive guests, and come out with statements like \"I can\'t call the police\". Eh? All I wanted was for them to ask the other guest not to shout in the corridors all night.
Lazy staff, bad attitude. Loud door buzzer (from the loudness you would be expecting God to answer the door). Moronic design.
I\'ve been there so I know any other review about the noise not being a problem can\'t be right, not unless the traveller is deaf.

Glasgow, Scotland Chose this hotel because of trip advisors reviews and i was not dissapointed, i found all the reviews to be absolutely spot on! We were met by a very friendly receptionist and found our rooms to be spotlessly clean, spacious and cosy warm ( maybe too warm ) .
The Breakfast was really nice and do try the scrambled eggs even though they dont look too good ( imho ) they are lovely.
If you are looking for a couple of nice bars to relax and have some honest food and some cheap beers...... go out the hotel, turn right then right again and try the first pub on the corner, its really really nice! we had 2 LARGE portion meals 5 big beers and 4 glasses of wine all for the princely sum of £13.50 outstanding value.
The other one is out the hotel, left down the hill a wee bit, first left and its at the top of the hill yet again another typical czech pub, great food, great beer and good atmosphere, recommended !
In my opinion though it is best to avoid the chinese opposite the hotel as the food we were served was cold, bland, and on cold plates, there was no atmosphere , no music and no prawn crackers!!!
The only minor downside of the hotel was the fact that as it is all tiled you can hear every noise of people walking around ( high heeled women being the worst offenders ) , doors opening etc! but as you will be on holiday just top up on the pivo and vino and you will be fine.
We will be returning to Praha and will definately be using the Siefert hotel again.

Lichfield Just to add my commendation to all the others. It has mostly all been said. A very clean and comfortable hotel with friendly staff and a great buffet style breakfast - though not sure about mixed veg or green beans for breakfast!!
We would definitely recommend this to anyone. Just be very careful about getting on the 133 bus into town. My friend had something lifted from her bag within seconds of getting on the crowded bus. Fortunately it was nothing of value.
The city is lovely, especially at night.
