Hotel Residence Seifert

Leicester, UK

The hotel itself is lovely. Its brightly decorated and with helpful staff who can understand you. I didnt have the correct plug convertor with me but reception were happy to lend one to me free of charge. The continental breakfast left us feeling hungry though as there wasnt much there for our tastes - bread rolls and yoghurts it was for us.

The room was clean, modern and bright with a lovely bathroom. It had a shower with great power behind it. The TV didnt pick up any channels worth watching but then you are only in the room for a short period of time. The bed was comfortable and we even had our own balcony! The mini-bar was tempting too!

The first night however we didnt sleep as we were on the first floor and the first room (101) - all you could hear all night was people coming in and going out of the hotel and talking to reception. It was very noisy but luckily the next two nights were quiet.

We followed someone elses directions as to how to get to Seifert from the airport and they were spot on. Catch the 100 bus from the airport to the last stop at the bus station. Then it was down to the metro station Zlicin (Line B) for quite a few stops to Florenc where we got off to catch the number 133 bus (catch it from the same side of the road as McDonalds) for about a 3 minute journey. The stop you get off at is slightly further down from the hotel but on the same side as it - just a minutes walk uphill.

The location of the hotel is excellent - so quick and easy to get into the city centre - and the italian restaurant down the hill a short way was delicious! We ate there quite a few times.

I would definately stay in this hotel again if I go to Prague again.

Essex

As we have done for the last few city breaks, my girlfriend and I checked out Trip Advisor as the first port of call.

We found the Hotel Seifert reasonably priced online, and decided that the reviews were good enough to seal the hotel booking.

We printed off the directions of how to get there from the airport, based on those already documented on the website.

But to recap, and to also add our own spin on things:

- Leaving the airport, purchase a travel ticket from one of the counters in the airport departure area, currently only 280k.
(Note, you only have to validate each ticket once. So, if you get a 7 day ticket, You will need to validate it the first time you get on the bus ONLY.)

- Leave the departure area and go outside. Cross the road and look for bus 100, which will take you to Zličín station (metro line B). I think about a 20 minute journey after stopping at other stops. Everyone gets off at the Zličín station. (It\'s not far from the big Tesco, so you know you are in the right area).

- Head down the stairs - you will need to get the train that comes into the right platform. (Left is no entry - end of the line I guess.)

- After a few stops, you will need to get off at Florenc. Head out onto the street.

- You will need to head towards the McDonalds (you should see signs showing you the way). As other reviewers have mentioned, you will need to be on the McDonalds side. You will see a bus stop near by. Head for that.

- You can now catch the bus. Either 133 (destination Sidliste Maleslice) or the no. 207 (destination Ohrada). (We found that the 207 was less busier generally. )

- It is only 2 stops (the stops are far apart - but can be walked in 15 minutes if you fancy a brisk walk) and in light traffic this will take 5 mins. The stop you get off at is called Tachovske Namesti.
Walk up the hill and you will find the hotel.

At first, the area appears a bit run down but this is not reflected in the interior of the hotel. The hotel was always very clean. (Daily maid, towels changed on request). The hotel felt safe (in-room safe box for 100k deposit) and very comfortable (lovely beds, en suite and cheaply priced mini bar).

The receptionists were always very helpful when we asked questions. There happily helped us book at taxi for our return flight; and provided local maps and advice on where to buy groceries (but you will find lots of small shops along the road anyway).

The breakfast was plentyful and regularly refilled.

We were able to leave our luggage in the hotel as we had a late flight.

As advised by some reviewers, we visited the pub around the corner. (Leave hotel, turn first right. You will find the pub on the first corner you arrive at.) This pub was very reasonably priced (especially if you have eaten in the Old Town Square before hand!). Good sized meals, good beer at great prices.

This was a great hotel, which I would recommend to anyone wanting to experience Prague.

Many thanks for a comfortable stay!

Milan

My boyfriend and I have just come back from Prague and I have to say that this city is absolutely wonderful!
By the way, what concerns the hotel.. for the price we have paid it is absolutely worth it! We paid 157 euro for 4 nights.
The rooms are big, clean and the bathroom the same! I suppose the hotel has just been renewed.
Its location:
it is 10 minutes time from the city centre. The bus 133 (as a previous tourist has already said) will become your best friend. This bus n. 133 will leave you directly at 2 minutes walk from Charles Bridge and from this location it is easy to reach the most important and well known places of interest of Prague. It also stops at the metro station Florenc.
Also the bus number 207 that also stops in front of the hotel as the number 133 leads to the metro station Florenc.
The area where the hotel is located is a little bit run down, but don\'t be impressed about it! I have to say that this is also a very noisy street, but being we young and so tired at the end of the day we had no problems to sleep once we touched the beds!
The breakfast is a continental one, rich in cereals, bread, hams, different kind of cheese.. there is not a very big choice but it can satisfy all customer tastes.
What else to say?
There is an internet connected pc in the hall that can be used for free, the receptionists are friendly and always available, there is the possibility to change money directly from the hotel, and to purchase different kind of drinks and snacks.
If I would come back again to Prague in the future, I will surely stay again at Seifert hotel.

England

This hotel was outstanding value for money. The amenities were superb and exceptionally clean, the buffet breakfasts outstanding. The location was about 2km from the city but it was not a bad walk in. The location was ideal as it was quiet. There are plenty of local amenities and top quality restaurants. Those who stop here should check out the location, there is a very nice church about two blocks toward the TV tower. The tram line is also fairly close. Come out the hotel, take the first left and walk straight up the hill.
I would return tomorrow.
