Hotel Capri

East Midlands

Me and my husband stayed at this hotel for 5 nights in september. We were worried by the mixed reviews but decided to give it a go anyway and we were pleased we did!

It was really close to the tram stop but we did walk most of it anyway - used the tram when we got really tired! a 10 min walk along the road and you could walk through a park and down into prague centre.

The hotel was good. The rooms were pretty clean. Tea and coffee and kettles in the room. shop just a couple of doors away for those night time snacks. Pizza place attached to the hotel was amazing. We had pizza each and dessert with alcoholic drinks for around £10 which is a bargain because everything tasted great.

Breakfast was ok. Plenty to eat and changed everyday. We did find that if we got there later than 8:30 most of the hot food had gone but you could make toast so it didnt matter much.

Reception was hit and miss for staffing but we had our own front door key and we liked not being watched coming and going.

Prague was beautiful and if we go again, we would deffo stay in this hotel. If you go to this hotel, please have at least one meal in this pizzaria!!

Bromley, Kent

My wife and myself have just returned from a two night stay at this hotel. We went with easy jet, two nights b&b with flights for £60. We asked for a top floor room for somewhere quiet. We stayed in room 32 and it was a lovely room, attic with two sky lights, it was clean and bright and we were well pleased. It was pretty cold in Prague but the two radiators were more than sufficient and we were very comfortable.
The pretty girl on the reception was very helpful, but the equally pretty girl at the breakfast tables was very miserable indeed, she obviously didn`t want to be there!.The food at breakfast was ample, fresh and well presented, no problem there.
Our only complaint would be that there was a large gap under our door and the draught was very bad, no prob. i just laid my leather jacket along it, job done.
Would have no hesitation in recommending this place, very close to centre, close to a couple of very nice and friendly bars, and when we go back it will be to this same hotel.

Lazio

We\'ve just got back from a 7-night stay at this \"hotel\" (27/8 - 2/9). We regret not having read these reviews before booking. The negative ones are all right. The positive ones we don\'t understand, certainly a one day stay is different from a 7-day stay, even if you are 11! We have seen other 3-star place in Prague, one of them is just in the nearby of Capri, and we can assure you that 3-star doesn\'t have a different meaning in Prague. Besides, at the same price it\'s possible to get a real hotel. You don\'t need to take your linen if you stay only 1 day and don\'t care of hygiene. If you stay longer you\'ll notice that they NEVER change the linen neither make the bed, they just wrap the quilt. The room seems clean, but we left a little piece of paper (1x2 cm) on the floor near the chair and it is still there. The first day we had a peach to eat: its stone is still in the dustbin! They never clean the floor. We usually don\'t look for luxury hotels, we have stayed in many low budget places, guesthouse, in Tanzania and they weren\'t so unhygienic as the \'hotel\' Capri is.
We stayed on the first floor in a small room, we can\'t image the \"small\" rooms mentioned by one of the reviewers!
The reception closes at 8 pm, after which you can\'t find anyone around for any help.

The good side: the buffet for breakfast was a variety to suit a lot of tastes and really a quick tram ride gets you everywhere, because the means of transport in Prague are very efficient.
But we definitely don\'t recommend this place to people who plane to stay there more than one night and like a little bit of hygiene.

Byron Bay

Our family spent two nights at Capri hotel in Feb.

We had one family with 3 members (1 child) with only 1 room. We have stayed twice at other Prague hotels which were a lot more expensive. Hotel Capri was really valuable for its rate (35 euro per night).

The staff was extremely helpful in every way. The room was very nice and modern, looking like they had been recently updated. It was not right in the city centre, but with tram it was really fast.

Lancs on tour

We stayed on the 3rd floor of the Capri in a fairly large room with a separate bathroom. The windows were large skylights which kept out any noise from the trams on the main street when shut. There was a TV, phone, hair dryer and kettle in the room. The breakfast was downstairs through the pizzeria and down anotler flight of stairs and there was a large selection of food(no bacon) but the only tea was Earl Grey or fruit tea.
Reception closed at 8pm but there was someone to meet us when we arrived at 10pm and rang the bell. The reception staff were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble.
The \"Non Stop\" on the photo refers to a bar with slot machines next door which we neither saw anyone enter or leave and did not hear anything from.
To get to the main sightseeing areas from here was a long pleasant walk through the park but the nearest bridge across the river was being refurbished so it is much easier to take the tram.Tickets can be bought from the tabacconists just round the corner and we bought 4 tickets for about £1.50 (2 there and 2 back) and took the 26 tram to get near Wenceslas square or the 12 tram from around the corner to the Charles Bridge both of which took about ten minutes.
The taxi from the airport should cost about 600Kroner but we heard of one couple being charged over 900 and another getting the taxi back from the city to the airport for 430.
Beautiful city, friendly people, hotel no problem
