Prague, Czech Republic Hotels and Apartments

We Have just returned form a Fantastic break in Prague, staying at the perfectly located \"Atlantic Hotel\".

After reading several other reviews my judgement was clouded by reports of unhelpfull staff and pick-pockets to name but a few. This was NOT the case. The staff are both wecloming and helpful, even when arriving late in the evening. We we allocated room 203 to the rear of the Hotel which was lovely and quiet, with ample room with Satellite TV and a spotless Bathroom/shower room. The hotel was lovely and warm and NO extra blankets were needed as the outside temperatures reached below freezing most evenings.

Breakfast has a wide variety of choice, from the Continetal (Cheese and hams etc), English (Bacon and eggs etc), Healthy (Yoghurts, fruits, cereals etc) to the traditional hot Czech-style breakfasts. It\'s all buffet style, so you just help yourself to what you fancy!

There is free internet access in the lobby and the Bar offers a wide selection of reasonably priced drinks (Compaired to the surrounding area) in friendly surroundings. (The ceiling is covered in \"umbrellas\").

AIRPORT TRANSFER :-
Dont bother with the taxi\'s at the airport unless you\'re short on time, the transfer IS EASY. We bought a \"3-day Transfer ticket\" for 220Kc (about £5) which allows unlimited travel on ALL public transport (Buses, Trams, Metro, Trains and even the funicular railway). We got ours at the airport on arrival at the kiosk in the terminal building. Jump on Bus-100 to Zlicin and put your tiicket in the machine on the bus (ONLY ONCE), then jump on the metro to Namesti Republiky. The hotel is just up the road about 150m.

OUT AND ABOUT:-
Take a good pair of walking shoes as all the streets are cobbled and enjoy your unlimited travel, Just explore!. We found a nice bar just around the corner (Left out the hotel doors and 1st left) was the \"Corbra Musik Bar\". Try the \"Bohemian Platter\" if you\'re NOT vegetarian, Roast duck, Gammon and a pork steak, this is very filling and served with dumplings throughout the city.

I would recommend the \"Atlantic Hotel\" to all. Wonderful Base in a beautiful city. JUST GET UP AND GO FOR IT ! ! ! !

I spent three nights at Hotel Atlantic. I was very pleased with it and the price - 49 euro per night.

The rooms and bathrooms are clean and spacious. Top rate buffet breakfast - everything from bacon to green peppers to basic continental. Some Czech food too.

It was impossible to walk in without at least one member of staff being at the front desk. Usually there were two so no waiting around anytime I needed to ask for something and good security.

The location is also excellent. Five minutes of walking takes you to the Stare Mesto main square, Wenceslas Sq., Florenc bus station, and the main train station. Walking and bus tours were also nearby. There was a commercial bank and cash machine on the next street.

The construction work going on was not a problem either as it was separated from Hotel Atlantic by Hotel Ibis.

There is one computer in the lobby with free internet access.

No negative points I can think of.
