Hotel Atlantic

Cork

I am just back from a 3 day visit to Prague where I stayed in the Hotel Atlantic. Overall, for the price we paid for it it was great value for money. There were six of us travelling and we all received ajoining rooms, however one room was smaller than the others but that is to be expected in small hotels. The location is perfect, with a short walk to everything you want to see in Prague. My only complaint was the service in the hotel. The receptionists were rude and unfriendly, which i blame on them speaking very poor english. We arrived at 12 midnight as our flight was delayed and this seemed to tick them off. Only one member of staff that we met smiled. However, this was an insignificant flaw. Our room was cleaned every day, the rooms and bathrooms are immaculate. We never ate breakfast in the hotel however. It was an altogether comfortable, affordable hotel in an excellent location. I would stay here again.

Visited Prague and stayed at the Hotel Atlantic last September for a mid-week break. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room they gave us was very modern with a good view, but had a problem with the lights so they moved us to a larger older room. Not much of a view but we didn\'t intend to stay in the room other than for sleeping.Breakfast was included and was very generous-we didn\'t need any lunch! The hotel was quite central too, being near Nameski Square for the airport buses.
We went on a walking tour the first mornng which covered all the places of interest and gave us our bearings. Everywhere in Prague can be walked to although it is quite a steep walk to the castle. We took a tram (incl in the tour price) then walked down the 220 steps back! We had no problems walking around day or night. Lots of beautiful buildings especially in the Old Town Square-Stare Mesto -and very cheap restaurants. The small river boat ride is a must!
Definitely a must-see city though do go in the week to avoid the stag/hen parties! Get a tourist bus from the airport too-tickets on sale in the arrivals lounge. Taxis are renowned rip-off merchants.

stayed with my parents for their golden wedding

rooms very clean and large. yes they did only provide liquid soap unlike many UK hotels, however unlike many UK hotels the bathrooms and bedrooms were immaculate no toe nail clippings left under the beds or signs of mold in the toilets.

we had a family room for two which meant 2 sofas as well as table and chairs. If you were taking a family room ideal, as 2 kids would have own beds rather than sharing

Pillows were soft, they would provide more pillows if asked.

Breakfast typical local buffet, always something you could eat.

Location great, short walk to Old town, Wencelas Shopping area, Jewish quarters etc

Never heard the builders even though working, but I am sure this would have been quieter than the noise in the square or other areas where the revellers were enjoying themselves.

would go back to this hotel again.

For a 3 star, the hotel was above expectations! Location was perfect....on the edge of the old town. Everything was within walking distance. The best thing about the hotel.....it had free parking! That is very hard to come by in Prague in the city center! The lady at the desk was very helpful. The room was very clean and nice. Looked newly refurbished. Great bathroom with a super high pressure shower. There is a street tram stop out front, so it could be a little loud if you have a room in the front of the hotel. But I enjoyed watching all the people down below. We spent evenings in the Havana bar. Too bad it closes at 11pm, but there is a really nice Jazz restaurant/bar across the street.
Breakfast was very good. A nice selection...only thing missing were the scrambled eggs, but everything was hot and the coffee was good. The hotel is right next to the Mercure and the Ibis, but less than 1/2 the price.
I will definitely stay there next time in Prague!!!!

My girlfriend (21) and I (22) stayed in Prague for 4 days and we really enjoyed ourselves. As this was our first trip away together we didn\'t really have high expectations but the Hotel Atlantic fulfilled all of our requirements: cheap and cheerful in a very central location, 24hr reception etc.

After booking the room in August we contacted the Hotel directly and requested a room on the top floor as these are the quieter rooms, and they were more than happy to oblige to this request. Don\'t bother to buy a map of the city, merely ask at the reception for a city map and the one they provide is very detatilled and very useful.

We visited all the main attractions (the Castle, Charles Bridge, The Lookout Tower, St Vitus\'s Cathedral, Wenceslas Square, Od Town Square, Wallenstein Gardens near the Castle (which were free and definately worth a visit!!) a boat ride along the river (called little Venice) etc etc, and we travelled by foot to all of these. We did pretty much everything that there was to see in Prague and all in 4 days, and did not use public transport (including taxis) once, except to and from the Airport.

Getting to and from the Airport, we would suggest that you use the airport shuttle bus. This leaves from the airport at the very front of the taxi queue (outside the airport terminal on the right). (There is a time table there). If in doubt, do not feel affaid to ask one of the taxi drivers for the shuttle bus that drops off (one stop) at the Rennaisance Hotel in the Namesti Republik. This is approximately 2 minutes walk from the Hotel Atlantic and is only 90Kr per person. On the return journey to the airport it leaves on the hour and the half hour from outside the Renaisance Hotel (again there is a timetable). The journey takes approximately 25mins and is considerably cheaper than a taxi.

In summary we had a fantastic holiday and we would definately stay at the Hotel Atlantic on our return journey to this beautiful city.
