Hotel Atlantic

New Delhi, India

My wife and I have just returned from a trip to Prague, Budapest and England. Prague is a beautiful city but overcrowded with tourists and so it was difficult for us to get hotel rooms within our budget.

We booked the hotel through the internet and the staff were very polite and efficient. The rooms are very large and have recently been refurbished, so the bathrooms are clean and well-equipped, but the rooms are very basic. When we checked in the TV in our room didn't work and it was a weekend so we weren't able to get the staff to repair it. However, on Monday the Manager tried very hard and when he wasn't able to, he changed our room and gave us a complementary bottle of sparkling wine, which was a very nice touch.

The hotel is very well located, but it is very noisy. It was very hot when we were there and had to sleep with the windows open since there is no air-conditioning or fan. Our room wasn't facing the street, but the kitchen staff come in early in the morning and make a lot of noise and turn the radio on very loud.

Breakfast was also very basic - for instance, orange squash instead of juice and and rolls and sliced bread instead of croissants.

We stayed in a far nicer hotel in Budapest for the same price, but prague hotels seem to be expensive in general.

If we were to return to Prague we would probably look for another hotel.

westmeath ireland

stayed at hotel atlantic june 17th to june 20th. pure coincidence but we were a group 2 couples and we stayed in rooms 501 and 502 also! very quiet. Hotel is very high standard for prague 3 star. bathroom lovely and breakfast was very nice if you get down for it around 8, if you leave it too late its not as nice. hotel very central new town and oldtown 10-15 mins walk, caslte 25 mins walk. staff very friendly. we got hotel driver to take us back to airport and he was so friendly for about 650 czk which is about 25 euro which was fine between 4 of us.

Durham, UK

stayed in this hotel 2 nights september 2006.lobby reception, very good, room big clean all you need for a short break.breakfast was one of the best have had anywere in europe.bar area very good.really cant say anything bad about this hotel, staff helpfull and friendly, would certainly go back.

Cheshire, England

We have just returned from a 3 night break in Prague, staying at the Atlantic Hotel, the hotel itself was very nice, the rooms very large and clean with plenty of storage space, the breakfast was just ok, the location of the hotel is very good, unfortunately there is extensive building work going on at the moment and they work 24/7 over there so it was very very noisy all night long, so if your a light sleeper i suggest you ask for a room at the rear of the hotel.

Dublin

Just back today from Prague, stayed 4 nights in this hotel.

Good things: great big shower, staff friendly enough, they have their own taxi company who you can use who are quite efficient.

Not so good:breakfast (could only stomach it one morning, never again), not so comfy pillows, quite noisy during night and early morning(from inside hotel and outside, no air con so you really have to leave windows open), no shower gels or shampoos just a non labeled liquid soap.

Stay here if your only about for a night or two and not planning on a great sleep or brekkie.
