UK Absolute perfect location. Right between the city tourist center and the castle, over looking the river. The resturant has the best view you can ask for but the food is average. I went there with my German class so there were over 15 of us with two to a room. Luckly I saw 5 rooms. Each one was different. Very, very large even by US standards. Each room had a great view even if it did not face the castle or tourist center. The views of the back streets were very interesting. The decor is a little dated and worn, but was still comfortable. My fiance and I are traveling to Germany, Austria, and Prague for our Christmas Honeymoon. We have decided to stay at the Alcymist for a treat, so as of right now I would not stay here again until I stay at other places in Prague. The one thing that really put a bad taste in my mouth was the Casino. Just felt very uncomfortable, but if losing your money is your thing you will find this hotel very comfortable. Good for business, individual stays, young tourist, or people not looking for a cultural stay.

Essex, England My parents have just returned from a weekend in Prague having stayed at the President. I chose and booked this hotel for them, based upon reviews I had read and it\'s seemingly central location. My parents were fortunately not disappointed!
They said the hotel is a bit of a concrete block from the outside and could do with some work, but the inside was lovely. The room they had was huge, with a good bathroom. The breakfast food was great with plenty of choice. The location excellent as they were able to walk everywhere - Charles Bridge, Wenscelas Square, Castle etc. The staff/concierge were all very helpful. What they really loved was the comfort and warmth of the hotel and room after a long day sightseeing in the cold. They would highly recommend staying here.
P.s - the bus tour they did was good, but the boat tour not so good. The boat just went up and down the same stretch of river and you could only see the backs of buildings (probably better on a sunny day!)

Bristol I had the misfortune to read these reviews before booking a 4 day break at this hotel to celebrate my wifes birthday. I arranged their limousine to pick us up at the airport (no Problem). Arrived at the hotel, cases taken into reception and warmly welcomed by the receptionist. That was it. We were then informed the hotel was overbooked and that they had booked us into another hotel and would we like to accept a gift (A meal in their restaurant!!!). We were then taken to this other hotel which was across the river at the other end of the Charles Bridge. This was a small Apartment Hotel with none of the faciities offered by the President. On informing them that we were totally dissatisfied they advised us there was nothing else they could. An expensive way to celebrate a birthday. Short of trying legal redress I have been well and truly been had by this hotel.

Athens, Greece I spend with my girlfriend three nights in President Hotel, Prague. The hotel is only 5 minutes walk from the centre and the Old Town Hall and close enough for walking to other worth visiting places (Charles Bridge, Wenceclas Square etc.) The stuff was extremely polite and helpful, breakfast was rich in quantity and quality. The room met all our expectations and all facilities and amenities promised were deleivered. Clean, extremely big with a luxurious bathroom while the bed was really comfortable. The place was peaceful and quiet, and temperature was kept at the right point all time of the day.
However, do not expect to get a room with a view over the river, it is extremely difficult; you might also have some trouble talking to some of the stuff in English (usual though for Czech people). Finally use the AAA taxi service rather than the hotel taxi service which is twice more expensive
Concluding, I would say it was an excellent stay and would definitely stay there again.

Northern Ireland My husband and I stayed at The President Hotel for thee nights from 15th February. The hotel is about 10 minutes from The Old Town Square and 10 minutes from Charles Bridge, so the location is great, quiet yet close to most tourist sights.
We could not fault anything about the hotel, the room was really spacious, as was the bathroom. On the first morning we went for breakfast and we came back our room had been serviced all very quick and efficient. The staff were great, very friendly and helpful.
There is a great choice of food for breakfast and the bread is moreish, needed to restrain myself as it was so nice.
Really recommend this hotel and if we return to Prague will certainly be staying there.
