Hotel President

Denbighshre Wales

Booked this hotel for 4 days for a break with my wife. The hotel is centrally based next to the river and more expensive Inter-Continental Hotel - 2 bridges down (10 mins walk) from Charles Bridge. The junior suite was excellent and room service top class. All the staff were excellent. We did not dine at the hotel, apart from the breakfast, because it was far more expensive than in town. We used the bar for a drink at the beginning of each night but it was hardly used, properly as a result of the prices and lack of atmosphere /piano being loud. The gym was disappointing and the one running machine and one bike did need some attention but the sauna and jacuzzi were excellent. You can book the whole suite free of charge (gym, shower, jacuzzi and sauna). The casino always looked very quiet and I was irritated as to why there was no english papers (US & french only foreign papers).

Overall, first time to prague and if you want a hotel centrally located, without the usual 5* facilities, then this is it. Think of a good english 3/4* and you will be satisfied. Just outside the main hub, so away from the rabble but close enough to walk everywhere, which was helpful as it rained 3 days - we never got one taxi. My recommendation for a czech meal, without paying tourist rates, is the Kolkovna (just five minutes walk from the hotel - V Kolkovne 8 - tel 420 224 819 701). My wife and I had a lovely dinner with several beers for under 1000,- (£25). The hotel will book you a table. Enjoy.

Perfect location in Old Town; outstanding service. Nicely renovated; huge, luxurious bathrooms; good meeting rooms.

Geneva, Switzerland

I stayed here for three nights on a recent business trip, room rate was 190 Euros per night, with breakfast.

While not much to look at on the outside, the hotel has been very tastefully renovated within the past two years. My room was on the fifth floor and faced the palace, which provided a simply stunning view, especially by night. There was also a large (15 square meters?) balcony. The room was spacious and nicely decorated, really a comfortable place to stay. The room offered free internet, which as business travelers know can easily run 20 Euros/day in a hotel, so this is worth figuring into the room rate. The room service food was actually really good, and the buffet breakfast was fine. In general, the staff are incredibly attentive and polite... really a welcome touch.

The hotel location is superb, right next to a scenic section of the river and within a very short walk to the best restaurants and shops in the city.

I won\'t hesitate to stay here again next time in Prague.

Braintree, Essex

We have just come back from a three night stay at this hotel. We had huge big rooms with all the facilities you would expect from a five star hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful even when checkiing out at some unearthly hour in the morning. We ate in the restaurant on the first night and the food and service were very good. Breakfast consisted of a huge buffet plus a selection of cooked items. They whipped up an omelette for my daughter without any problem. We would thoroughly recommend this hotel.

The location is just a few minutes walk from the Old Square and you can cathch a tram to the castle from just acorss the river. We would definitely stay there again if we went back to Prague.

Atlanta, Georgia

Very friendly, courteous staff. Spacious rooms with lots of amenities. This hotel is located right on the river near the Charles Bridge and the Jewish Section. It includes an excellent restaurant.

The casino was largely unused. I\'m not sure why this hotel isn\'t more popular.
