Hotel President

Canterbury

Recently returned from a 1 night football trip to Prauge.

We had arranged hotel transfers through the hotel for 1500 K. The chaueffer was there waiting for us as planned and carried our luggage to the Mercedes. The journey back to the hotel was very swift, with some good driving down the tram tracks to beat the queuing traffic!!!

The check in was very quick and we found the receptionist very helpful. She provided us with local maps, booked the car to take us to the football stadium in the evening and helped us with pronounciation of basic words like thank you etc.

We had booked a twin room and requested a river view, which is exactly what we got. The room was absoloutley immaculate, first thing we did was use the shower, which had an amazing jet mode, really did the job!

The nights sleep was also very good, mattresses & pillows extremely comfortable especially after all the walking you need to do around Prague. We used the bar in the evening after returning from the match, drinks were quite reasonable.

Breakfast is also very good, with a nice selection of full english & continental & fruits.

I didn\'t find 1 negative with The President tbh, even the location is great, right on the river only 5mins walk from Charles Bridge and located at the end of a street of designer shops leading down to the old square!

I will definitly stay here again, and would recommend to anyone!

The President Hotel tries to be a 5 star property but just doesn\'t compare with the top hotels. Service is just OK, amenities are better than average and the location is good, but basically a hotel for tour groups.

Germany

I recommend room 425! It had a great view of the castle, river and skyline of the Old village. It was also very spacious, and even smelled good. We arrived by sleeper train very early and were allowed to check-in very early in the morning. Which was wonderful, since we didn\'t get much sleep on the train and our 6 yr old was beat! The breakfast was great; staff was very friendly and helpful; and location was perfect. We\'ll stay there next time!

I have recently returned after spending three nights at the Hotel President with my partner. We had not been to Prague before and relied solely on the good reviews of the hotel on Trip Adviser. We are so pleased that we read the reviews, as we could not have picked a better hotel for service, friendliness, location and general ambience. It is sumptious without being pretentious and the hotel bar is a wonderful place to relax before going out for a meal in the evening. Not all of the staff speak English, but they are so friendly that this does not cuase any problem at all. We managed to have out breakfast every single morning with a window view of the river, which set us off for a great day. I cannot fault this hotel at all. It is a first class place to stay and so handy for Old Town Square, which is only a five minute walk. It is also nice and quiet and in a nice part of Prague, which is a bonus. I would definitely stay there again if I am ever lucky enought to go back to Prague.

Very very good location - on the river but quiet and close to the town centre and Jewish quarter. Couldn\'t have asked for better.
Perfect Staropramen bar just behind the hotel which was good as the hotel bar is worth a miss (a beer costs six times as much as the bar next door).
Room was nice, clean, etc. TV with a few English channels. Maids turn down the bed each evening and so on - all very good. Breakfast is also good and varied, and you have a view of the river. However, lunch and dinner are both stupidly overpriced (even with the voucher you get in your room) and are of very mediocre quality - and you\'ll be lucky if you\'re not the only people dining. Very disconcerting with all of these people standing over you and watching you eat!
The staff at reception will book things for you and are very pleasant and helpful. There are a couple of computers with free internet access too.
As a hotel to stay in it\'s very good and I\'d use it again.
