Manchester As the other reviews say, this hotel offers excellent value for money. The hotel is extremely close to the train, and a 10 minute walk to Wenceslas Square and the shopping district, bars, restaurants etc.
Staff at reception were helpful and spoke english. The rooms are basic, but are clean with modern furniture and bathrooms. In a city where you spend so much time out and about, it is fine to come back and crash for the night.
Breakfast is good, lots of meat, chees, pastries and toast, except the coffee was terrible!!
Overall, a great base to explore a beautiful city.

Munich, Germany I stayed at Pension 44 with my boyfriend for 4 nights in September 2006 & for the price we paid it was ideal. I was a bit apprehensive due to the low cost of the room, especially considering that the rate included breakfast & the location wasn\'t 25 miles outside of the city centre! Overall you get what you pay for without any hidden nasties.
The hotel is very easily accessed via public transport - less than a 5 minute walk to the nearest underground station. We never waited for longer than 10 minutes for a train & the line had the added bonus of linking up to the bus to the airport. I would recommend buying a multi day ticket from the airport & sticking to the public transport -it\'s incredibly cheap & very efficient.
Our room was sparse but large! We were on the ground floor & as a consequence I thought we would be bothered by the comings & goings of the other guests, however we never heard a thing from them. The room had a double bed, single bed & seperate bathroom & toilet. The room was clean, although there is no maid service unless requested. The only downside was the noise in the mornings from some kind of building site behind the hotel, it forced us out of bed though!
Breakfast was self service - cold meats, cheese, cereal, toast, pastries etc. Definitely sufficient for fuelling a days sightseeing. The Reception was open 24 hours a day & all the staff we encountered spoke very good English. The cafe / pub across the road (called the Dog\'s B*ll*cks!) served decent cheap food.
We stumbled across a restuarant in the old town called the Lucky Rabbit (or Vysmaty Zajic) that I cannot recommend enough. The food & service was absolutely stunning & the total cost of the meal plus wine is about a third of that I\'d pay in England. I kept the receipt & I\'ve since discovered the place has a website [-]vysmatyzajic.cz[-]. Go there & you will not be disappointed!

Tucson, AZ Very convenient to streetcar & metro lines. Reasonable rates.
24 hour front desk; most staff spoke English fairly well. Staff were courteous and helpful in our efforts to recover my wife\'s lost luggage from the airport. They also willingly converted cash for us.
Neighborhood can be a bit noisy at night from late revelers returning home.
No bug screens in windows, & it was hot sometimes so we had to leave windows open. The bathroom had no shower, only a tub with no curtain and a hand sprayer. Bring your own towels. WC room stank; poor ventilation.
Biggest problem: Room doors can be locked from the outside, and a key is needed to unlock, inside or out. This can prevent someone inside from getting out unless they also have a key.
