Prague, Czech Republic Hotels and Apartments

As a family, we spent a wonderful 4 days in Prague staying at this beautiful hotel. The staff were attentive, the rooms beautifully appointed and the facilities very good. The hotel is situated within easy walking distance to the main square but far enough away to be quiet. The breakfasts were excellent with a superb choice for all palates. The lounge/salon was cosy and comfortable and I had, I think, one of the best Gin and Tonics ever! The children were thrilled with the internet access, to keep in touch with friends. I would return at a moments notice. Superb.
( Fantastic restaurant, Turn left out of the main door, up the hill and not the first, but the second restaurant on the left...real Czech cuisine and very reasonably priced.)

We spent, two adults, two nights before Christmas at the Alchymist\'s 60 sq. meter suite, room 305. At the airport we were picked up, as arranged, by the hotel\'s Rolls-Royce. The check-in was very friendly and smooth, the bed very comfortable and the bathroom luxurous including a bath tube and shover with water pressure for others to share. Additionally the was a sitting room with furniture reflecting the rococo era, and some steps leading to a small hall at a lover lever. The kitchenette was eqiupped with an electric ceramic stove and a water kettle. The only thing to be careful with were the numerous steps between the rooms. We found it wise to leave a light on through the night to avoid broken ankles.
Breakfast was served in the main restaurant, and it was quite good, too, although it could get quite cramped at times.
Free wine tasting was offered daily betweeb five and six p.m.
Chek out was smooth and friendly.
The transport back to the airport was executed exactly as planned with the suitcase already lying in the boot when we got to the hotel\'s Mercedes.

Stayed 4 nights over Christmas in the family suite which comprised an upstairs twin bedroom, a large double ensuite and a large shower room. Everything as expected, excellent condition, clean etc. Staff first class, nothing too much trouble including room service breakfast with Champagne on Christmas day (extra naturally). All facilities, sauna, steam room (small) pool in good order; two of us had the Swedish massage and were well pampered. The hotel\'s own cafe was a treat, truffles, hot chocolate, cakes - first rate. didn\'t use the restaurant but the menu looked inventive. Slight niggle - best to stick to continental breakfasts as hot food was not great and not particularly warm either - poor coffee but the range of other breakfast items was excellent. Very well located - 15 minutes to the castle, 10 minutes to the Charles Bridge, 20 minutes to the Old Town Square. Highly recomment hotel for weekends or short stays, not really a business travel hotel although facilities are available.
