Boston My wife and just spent 4 nights at the Alchymist. I first visited Alchymist two years ago, when it just opened. I stayed at Aria, a block away (very cool rooftop!), and, after getting a tour of Alchymist by its owner, decided that I’ll definitely stay there on my next visit to Prague. I booked a Junior suite, directly thru the hotel. Alchymist met and exceeded our already high expectations! Everything was absolutely perfect – the ambiance, attitude of employees, cleanness, quality, location… a great balance between high design and cofmort! My wife and I are totally NOT into gold and glitz, but décor at the Alchymist somehow just works! We felt that we were living in a fairytale, but with all the modern comforts! If your taste is limited strictly to minimalist type stuff, this place may not be for you. Common areas are warm and inviting – big soft sofas, nice lighting, lots of air yet very cozy, and the rooms are absolutely gorgeous! I am very happy I booked a junior suite. We were there with another couple who booked a regular room, and although their room was nice, the suite was truly memorable! Our room was facing a quiet courtyard, so we were able to sleep with open windows; we did use AC a few times, and very happy with it – fast and quiet. Great service personnel, very nice breakfast, wine and cheese in the afternoon (good wine!), and a spectacular location – a few minutes from the bridge, and yet completely away from the crowds. The spa is nice, but not a kind of place where you’d want to hang out for hours… Two restaurant recommendations (near the hotel): Gitanes – a home-style Mediterranean place two doors down – whole grilled sea bass, great veggies, interesting lamb dishes, superb $30 wines from Croatia and Montenegro; and Olympia, owned by Pilsner Urquell, where we had the best $10 pork knuckle outside of Bavaria and Urquell’s new beer called Master that weren’t able to find anywhere else – great stuff! (a 15-min walk). Last but not least, do use their airport transfer car service. Inexpensive, nice cars (we had a big US Jeep), very professional drivers.

England We have just returned from a three night stay at The Alchymist in Prague and loved every minute of it! When we arrived at the hotel, my boyfriend and I could simply not take in how beautiful and grand the hotel actually is. We were greeted by a porter who immediately took our bags from us, whilst another member of staff proceeded to show us around the hotel. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff of The Alchymist! You are treated like royalty throughout your stay.
During our stay we used the sauna and pool and also had a romantic massage for two, which was excellent. Our only complaint, which prabably sounds trivial and petty, is that the complimentary bottle of water was never replaced and when we enquired about it, we were told that we would have to pay for any further bottles. We thought that this should have been included at a 5* hotel. Also, although the breakfast is good, it isn\'t quite 5* standard. But apart from those minor complaints, the hotel far exceeded expectations and made for a fabulous, romantic break.
If you are considering going to Prague, we would urge you to stay at the hotel, especially if you are looking for a romantic retreat. The hotel is situated in Mala Strana, quite probably the most romantic and best area of Prague. It is in a great location, being only a five minute walk from Chales Bridge. Prague is, in our opinion, the most beautiful and romantic city in Europe.

Ballymoney, N. Ireland A fantastic Hotel, dating from 1510. The architecture was beautiful, the furnishings totally in style for the era. Totally a sublime experience. Our room was a double deluxe, which was beautiful, amazing deep bath (wonderful after walking round Prague all day). Everything was so clean, the staff attentive and helpful. The breakfast was a mixed hot and cold buffet, never had any problems with staff clearing up early. Prague itself is not as cheap as it used to be, but still a wonderful city. If you like good food, try \"Cowboys\" on the hill up to Prague castle. If you book in advance, you can get seating on their roof terrace with a view out over all of Prague! The food was amazing, portions good, and not too expensive. I can really recommend the Fillet Mignon, while my wife loved the pork ribs (millions of them) and if you like a little drinky, try their \"sex on the Farm\"
I hope you enjoy Prague as much as we did. This hotel is so worth the money, LOVED IT!
