UK Just got back from Andel\'s with two friends. I am trusted to choose and book the hotels when we go away on girlie half term breaks and usually they don\'t disappoint. Unfortunately, none of us was over impressed by Andel\'s. We booked a \'triple\' with GTA hotels and on arrival found that the third bed was a squashed in portable type leaving little room for manoevre. It was also shorter than a proper bed which would have been a problem if one of us was not fairly petite. On return from breakfast (which was OK but pretty standard) the first morning, the two proper beds had been tidied but the other totally untouched.
I love modern but the decor and fitments were a bit shoddy looking eg. white melamine units and bedheads (the third bed not even having one). As mentioned in a previous review, the bar was totally lacking in atmosphere with brown melimine bench type seating at some tables (my friend likened it to a truckers\' transport cafe which was spot on) and adjacent to the precinct with harsh lighting and people popping about their business. This was also the view from our room so on drawing back the curtains in the morning there were offices opposite which you felt were staring into your room.
The location was as expected from other reviews and we thought it was fine. Prague itself is fab, like a little toytown with cobbled streets and quaint, quirky buildings. If I went again I don\'t really know where I would stay because we didn\'t see anywhere else with wow factor and I do prefer modern to old as some old hotels with character are lacking in facilities or cleanliness.
I would not advise anyone against Andel\'s but was a bit mislead by the other rave reviews.

Witney Superb stylish and contemporary hotel excellently located for tourists visiting Prague. Staff couldn\'t be more helpful and friendly. Room was immaculate with all mod cons and lovely designer touches - we even had a free upgrade to one of the studio suites. Breakfast was delicious and varied each morning, plus it is served until 1030! Amenities locally and metro/tram stations only one road and 1 minute\'s walk away. Thoroughly recommend.

London I\'ve just returned from a comfortable and refreshing long weekend at Andel\'s hotel, and have to say that my boyfriend and I were both very impressed. Having read a couple of recent poor reviews on this site I was a little unnerved, but need not have worried. The hotel itself is of course very modern. The room was lovely and very cosy, with TV and DVD player, separate bath and shower, well stocked mini-bar and safe. We had one main meal at the hotel which was okay but nothing special. The breakfast bar is well stocked with full English and continental. The Hotel is in a fairly dead area just outside Central Prague. However, public transport is brilliant and trams just around the corner will take you to all central attractions quickly and without hassle. Andel Metro Station is also around the corner so the location of the hotel was certainly not a problem. Its best to get either a 24 hour or 3 day travelcard from Tabac shops, which can be used on all public transport (including the cable car up Petrin Hill).

Orlando, FL The photos online looked much nicer than the hotel actually turned out to be. Location was fine. Prague is an AMAZING city! Hotel parking lot swipe cards didnt work so that was a pain in the neck. They also didnt have any adapters, or postcard stamps. Breakfast was terrific and the staff spoke good English. The room was clean and pretty large for European standards. We hired one of their drivers to take us for an hour tour of the city. Although he didnt speak very good english, it was well worth the 22 Euros for the experience and the photos we were able to get. I wouldnt stay here again... when I was doing research on hotels I found many others that seemed more charming and better located. I will say that there was a good shopping mall with a Tescos and some other little shops very close to the hotel. Restaurants nearby (walking distance) were just ok. All in all it just left me flat

Colchester We thought this hotel was amazing. The staff were so friendly especially the porter who couldn\'t have been more helpful in trying to help us find our way round the city.
We were in fact upgraded free of charge when we arrived to a maisonette, as a number of other people have commented. The room was great. We did get a peak of the rooms which we had originally booked too which looked spacious and comfortable. The hotel was extremely clean which is a must!
Breakfast was free and served for quite a long time from 7:30-10:30am where they seemed to be constantly topping up the food. There was loads on offer so if you\'re a fussy eater like me you\'ll be fine.
The location of the hotel is great. It is practically in the city centre, only three metro stops away and the metro stop is basically on your doorstep. There are great restaurants nearby including Corleones and Hombre del Mundo which are cheaper than the city as well as having great food, a bonus of being on the edge of the city! We went to Corleones had a starter (which was huge) to share, a main course each, bread and a bottle of wine for only £15 and it tasted amazing. If you like shopping there is a large shopping centre right next to the hotel with loads to offer.
The hotel was easy to get to from the airport. No need to get a cab: take the number 100 bus from the airport which goes to the metro line, Andel is then in this metro line. If you get a ticket for a certain number of days to travel around the city by metro and bus you can use these tickets from the airport (just get them inside the airport as you come out of departures).
Prague was an amazing city. Make sure you leave plenty of time for the castle as there is loads to see. Cowboys is a great rooftop restaurant near the castle too!
As for the negative comments I think some people must have experienced something extremely different or are being a little bit fussy!!
