Prague, Czech Republic Hotels and Apartments

We recently stayed at the Esplanade and had a wonderful time. The reception desk, porters and security guards were extremely pleasant and were very helpful. The rooms were not big but had been recently refurbished and were of a high standard, particulary the bathrooms which were very clean and impressive and the free toiletries were restocked every day! There was a well stocked mini bar at reasonable prices and the room had satellite TV. The bar service in the evening was good although the hotel bar was fairly small, but comfortable.

The hotel is situated just off Wencelas sqaure, close to the train and tube lines and near the Museum. It was about a 15 mins walk to the Old Town so for a nice, clean hotel with quiet bedrooms it was an ideal location.

This hotel gives Prague a very bad reputation, especially with the rumors of ripping off tourists. The staff were very rude and pompous, overcharging us for poor service. It may be an old, historic hotel, but it deserves no recognition whatsoever for good customer service. Do NOT stay here, there are many other better choices for your stay in Prague!

On my first visit to Prague, just stayed at the Esplanade. The location is excellent. Everything is close by and you can walk to many sights and hop on a tram or use the Metro which is close at hand. I found it easy to get to initially using public transit from the airport. The hotel room was excellent with everything you need and with temps in the 30\'s, the air conditioning was a lifesaver. The level of service was excellent and even if prices in the bar and restuarant are twice what you\'d pay outside, its up to you if you want the convenience. There\'s so many options in Prague for eating and drinking that higher prices inthe hotel are not an issue.
