Hotel Esplanade Prague

London

Location wise the hotel is perfect for Wenceslas Square (the \'New Town\' as it were) but therefore further from the \'Old Quarter\'. That said, take the Subway or a taxi (though don\'t order it at hotel reception and agree a price - around 7 euros is more than enough) and you\'d be there in no time. Wenceslas is better for getting value on eating out and the nightlife is great. The hotel combines both Art Deco styling and some nice old-world touches and is probably the best I\'ve stayed in of my Eastern European trips. Although it isn\'t the Burj Al Arab it is definately deserving of a 5* rating and fixtures, furniture, staff and everything were excellent. Would recommend to anyone.

England

i travelled to prague with five friends and met up with other family members from holland.
we booked a limosine on line not through the hotel and that was fantastic.
on arrival we were delayed but everything was fine at reception we went down to the bar in the hotel and had a few drinks which was rather pricey but we were able to meet up with are full party.
the rooms were spacious we had a front room and three were sharing but there was plenty of space for all three of us.there was a bath with a shower over it! we did look at other rooms and they only had shower cubicles.
the rooms were cleaned every day. the breakfasts were fruit ,cereal or cooked breakfasts. you could have any or all. the coffee was continental so we took are own.
the location was fantastic as it was just of the square so was easy to get your bearings.
we did have meetings in the rooms at night and it did seem very noisey but it was just to organise the following days activities.

overall the hotel was great and no complaints at all i would definitely go back and stay at this hotel.

Great Hotel in the Centre of Prague, would definitely go back. The Esplanade has really great staff and a lovely building. The rooms are big and spacious and the bathrooms are huge for City Centre.

The breakfast is good and lots of varity, fruit, cooked food, breads, etc. Not much to do at night in the hotel but you are a 2 minute walk from a busy street with lots of shops, pubs and restaurants.

Would definitely stay here if ever in Prague again!

London, UK

We stayed at the Esplanade hotel for a long weekend city-break to Prague with the usual itinerary of sight-seeing during the day and visiting restaurants and bars at night.

The hotel is located at the National Museum end of Weceslas Square, but we spent most of our time near the Old Town Square and Lesser Town, which meant a minimum 15 minute walk or taxi ride every time we wanted to go anywhere. I would have preferred to stay near the Charles Bridge.

The hotel itself was nice, although not 5-star as it would appear to be. The room was quite small and the decor seemed cheap. The TV was tiny, but we didn\'t watch it, so I wasn\'t bothered. The buffet breakfast was what you would expect from a 3-star hotel, but still quite acceptable.

The front desk staff were very helpful, friendly and spoke english fluently. They recommended very nice restaurants and even phoned to make reservations for us.

The only complaint I have is regarding the air conditioner. It was positioned right above the bed, blowing cold air onto us while we were trying to sleep and made a lot of noise when it kicked in. We were forced to turn it off, but luckily it wasn\'t too hot to sleep. If it had been hotter then this would have been incredibly annoying.

Brighton

Me and my 8 year old son just got back from a stay at the Hotel Esplanade.

It certainly looks impressive from the outside, and looks good in the bar and restaurant, but the room we had was very small.

Most of the staff had a smile and friendly welcome, apart from one night when we waited over 15 minutes to get a drink, even though the bar staff could see us sitting and waiting.

We were in room 612, which was small, with hardly any room for storage. We could also hear people walking up and down the staircase and using the service lift. Although small, the rooms were very clean and tidy, especially the bathroom - although the shower burnt me on a couple of occasions, kept going from cold to hot.

If you go, make sure you get a room on the 6th or 7th floor at the back, so you get a decent view - we could see right across the city to the castle and it looked great at night.

It certainly isn\'t 5 star, but isn\'t that bad.
