Hotel 987 Prague

Newbury, Berkshire

I was in Prague last week and was investigating a hotel for a trip in May. I had seen that the 987 Design Hotel in Prague was available so wanted to go and have a look at it and check the rates if booking direct.

The receptionist checked availability and then I asked what rate she could offer, she said she would have to check with her supervisor, they spoke in Czech, the supervisor then literally looked me up and down and spoke in Czech again with the receptionist who then informed me that they were full!

They treated me as If I was some tramp who had walked in off the street asking for a room, I was well dressed, in summer clothes and designer sunglasses but obviously I wasn\'t \"Designer\" enough for their hotel!

By complete contrast the Four Seasons in Prague were nothing but welcoming, and invited me to look around the hotel, and were more than happy for me to stay there!

Boca Raton, Florida

The hotel is in a good location, but there are some major problems. First, the hotel is on a street with both a trolley and a road that makes cars rumble as they pass over the rocks, not tar, on the road. For sensitive sleepers, beware. The breakfast is served 7-10:30 weekdays in a pleasant room. It is more than sufficient breakfast with bread, yogurt, fruit, eggs, bacon, cheese, and juices and coffee. The staff all speak sufficient English, are friendly, and arranged a car service for us twice which was convenient. Lots of promotional touristy information in hotel lobby. Internet service in the room is free and fast. Hotel is clean. Television in room is about 24 inch plamsa which was ok. Bed was king size. Bathroom is typically European small. One room for toilet, and one room for shower. THERE ARE NO CLOSETS, no drawers, no place to put your items except two hangers on a wall. Basically, the small hotel room is a bed and bathroom which for $200 was not worth it and I would look elsewhere next time. Walked by a Marriott and Renaissance both of which looked good from the outside, plus plenty of unique hotels near the city center of Old Town. Enjoyed Prague very much, and hope to return.

Booked a really last miniute long weekend break to Prague (as in the morning we decided to go!!). We arrived quite late at the hotel and were greeted by friendly staff. The room was lovely, funky and modern. I particularly liked the rain shower and hidden toilet. The hotel is tastefully decorated and we felt relaxed and comfortable. We enjoyed a couple of cocktails in the hotel bar which is small but there\'s nice seating areas where you can have a drink and also eat breakfast. There is a selection of bread.croissants etc salami and chesees as well as few salad bits. They also have toast, yoghurts, cereals and bacon and eggs. Overall, a really nice place to stay within walking distance from two different metro lines.

London

Hotel is in a fantastic location, everywhere is walkable. Hotel is just in a little bit quieter area which is good.

Hotel design was fantastic, looked great from the outside, looked great on the inside, very classy and clean. The rooms are very spacious and have great facilities. A massive, most comfortable bed, ajustable air conditioning, lcd tv, massive shower, digital safe and plenty of space.

This was probably the best hotel I have ever stayed, which made my trip to Prague even more enjoyable. Hotel staff weren\'t overly helpful but at the same time they arranged our taxi to the airport no problem.

Breakfast was not too bad, expect breads and croissaint style food, was about average, but this didn\'t bother me.

Full marks to the hotel, hope to definately return again or try one of their partner hotels in another part of the world, value was excellent, highest recommendations, I can\'t see why anybody could be dissapointed.

Lebanon

Spent 6 nights in this great hotel for New Year\'s celebration.
Very good location, Prague is an amazing city and almost everything is walking distance. The hotel is located towards the end of the central area which was great for us especially during the New Year Celebrations as it was much much quieter than other places around Prague.
The rooms where very elegant and stylish. The shower was the best shower we have ever used. We took several showers a day just for the fun of it.
The only negative things about the room are that there is no real closets for clothes and as we were 2 people going for 6 nights, we had to empty only one bag and keep the other one full. The other negative thing was that they don\'t have any hot water Kettle which is a standard thing in most 4 star hotels these days.

Staff were friendly when they understood the language properly as we found out that if you speak fast normal English they will not really understand and hence would not be very helpful but once they do understand they are very helpful.

The City in itself is maybe one of the nicest places on earth and we would recommend it to anyone who likes culture and arts.
