My family (2 adults and 17 and 15 year olds) had a very pleasant stay at the hotel Kampa. We asked for and got a triple and a double adjoining rooms. The triple room was extremely spacious - plenty of room for the family to relax after a hard day\'s sight seeing. The breakfast was very good - plenty of choice, and live piano music every morning. The location is excellent - 5 mins walk from the Charles Bridge, but nice and quiet. We used the Prague airport shuttle company - and would recommend them.

We have just spent the New Year in Best Western Kampa.
Good:
The location is excellent, very close to the historic part of the city, and the surroundings are very nice. The rooms were pretty large by European standards (but what you would expect in a 3* hotel in the States) and there were some differences in size between the rooms. They did clean the rooms twice a day. The dining hall is very nice, large and decorated with armours and swords, has a distinct medieval touch.
Bad:
Though renovated, the rooms did not look very new, the ceiling was uneven, the bathrooms very sparely decorated (small sink, WC and a shower cabine - not a tub). The front desk personnel is indeed useless - as somebody before mentioned, we also had problems setting up the Internet connection and it was very slow and eventually unusable. They were not able to answer some simple questions and provide help. They were not rude, just plain stupid. The lobby is VERY small. However, the biggest problem I had was with the smell of food in the lobby and sometimes even in the floor halls. I do not know what they were cooking but it always smelled very strongly (onion and fried stuff) and made me nauseous. I think it unacceptable in a 4* hotel that it should smell like a student cantina.

Spent 4 nights in the hotel with my wife and 2 friends, first impression \"oh my god, what have we booked !! \" not the prettiest hotel from the outside, but believe me it changes when the door is opened. Our rooms where large, with a kingside bed, lovely furnishings, a safe, sat tv. Two quilts provided warmth all night, and when we returned from our tour of prague in the evening the beds had been turned down and a little chocolate left on our pillows....nice touch. Lovely dining hall, and I mean hall !! All in a medeival style, food good too, plenty of choice. All in all can have no complaints, staff friendly, rooms lovely, a great place to stay.

Perfect and quiet place to visit the wonderful city of Prague . Very, very nice breakfast BUT incredibly TINY rooms ( fourth floor, # 420 ) and a reception desk not very kind or helpful :-( Smoking and not smoking reservations made SIX months before were not available .
The Gold Crown club card ( Best Western ) was rejected because the booking and the payment was made thru a travel agent !!! ( Connections Belgium )
Very nice stay in the city and a fabulous experience with the Opera and the Bellevue Restaurant after the Opera ...

We stayed at this hotel in April 2002 for 3 night. It was booked as a special offer deal.
The first night my boyfriend stayed there alone because I was delayed for a day. I arrived the second day, and was pleasantly surprised with the room. It was a good size room with a huge bed, couple of chairs, table, dressing table and a bathroom. Everything was clean.
Both nights we had dinner at their restaurant. The dining room has been done beautifully and the food and the service were excellent.
When we were checking out, we were pleasantly surprised, because for the first night we were charged only as a single room (even that I booked it as a double, and it was my fault that I was delayed).
Their full prices are quite steep but if I got again a special deal, we would definitely stay there again.
