West Midlands My girlfriend and I stayed at this hotel last November. As people rightly say the location is excellent. The hotel itself is fine although nothing to write home about. Beware of the curtains in the rooms, they don\'t close together at all and with the big windows you do feel a little conscious of the outside world looking in. We ended up trying to close the curtains with a hair clip.

Oslo perfect location, super central!! just a couple of hundred meters to the vaclavske namesti and its shopping streets (mustek subway entrance is also here which can take you to the shopping center at flora). the hotel is also a short walk from the karls bridge, prague castle and josefov, the jewish area. tons of crystal shops nearby.
as for the hotel itself, we found it very satisfying. we were 7 people in 5 rooms. friendly staff, decent breakfast, as mentioned in other reviews a little noise from the nightclub nearby but from touring the city all day we were all tired and had no problems sleeping:)
recommended restaurants: \"cowboys\", which is located about a 10 minute walk up the hill towards the prague castle after you cross the karls bridge. great food, amazing drinks and stylishly decorated. we also went to a fantastic restaurant around josefov somewhere, called brasserie something.. not quite sure, but it was quite big with a cozy section in the cellar as well, with live piano music.
again- i was very pleased with this hotel and i doubt you will find something that can compete with its location and price level.

London A pleasant little hotel with friendly and helpful staff. Very good value for the location in the centre of Prague\'s Old Town. Breakfast is a large and very good buffet. Double glazed windows so the rooms are very quiet, and bathrooms are modern and absolutely spotless. The only problem - the entrance from the street is shared with one of Prague\'s many dodgy basement drinking caves, complete with a group of menacing bouncers. You have to push your way past them - and they\'ll stare silently at you if you\'re a woman - to get to the front door of the Melantrich. Really unsettling - but fine once you get into the hotel!

Northern Ireland Strange entrance to the lobby (past a niteclub entrance and up steps) but very comfortable and warm (it was -6 degrees and snow outside!) all night. Could not have asked for a better location, about one minute walk from Old Town Square. The close proximity to everything meant we could return several times during the day to drop off shopping bags and then head out again. The bedroom was spacious, clean and welcoming. The breakfast was typical continental (bread, juice, danish pastries, coffee). Will definitely use this hotel when returning to Prague.
